 | So Beautiful or So What, His First New Album In 5 Years ` Due April 12, 2011 From Hear Music/Concord Music Group
To celebrate the release of his first new record in five years, legendary artist Paul Simon has announced a very special North American tour beginning Friday, April 15th in Seattle, Washington. The set list will draw from his iconic career, including several songs that haven`t been performed live in many years. Also included will be songs from So Beautiful or So What, his brand new album set for release by Hear Music/Concord Music Group on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Before hitting the road, Simon will appear two consecutive nights, April 6th and 7th on NBC`s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Produced by Phil Ramone and Paul Simon, with liner notes written by Elvis Costello, So Beautiful or So What is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. Rolling Stone magazine recently declared it, `His best since Graceland,â? and National Public Radio affirmed, `â?¦his new music balances great poetry and pop. Paul Simon is a national treasure.â? In their current issue, Filter Magazine calls the new album, `â?¦a new masterpiece from the Picasso of music.â?
Joining Paul for this tour is a stellar band of musicians including Cameroonian guitarist Vincent Nguini, drummer Jim Oblon, pianist Mick Rossi, saxophonist/keyboardist Andrew Snitzer, bassist Bakithi Kumalo, guitarist Mark Stewart, master percussionist Jamey Haddad and multi-instrumentalist Tony Cedras.

 | I really hope he adds some dates. There´s not a lot of anything in the Midwest and/or Great Lakes region. Five shows in CA but nothing in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, St. Louis, etc. |

 | Yeah I guess I´ll have to shoot for Toronto. I´ve found nothing online as far as pre-sale tickets go for any of these concerts.
I´m a little surprised at this coming out on such short notice. |

 | Is that more than usually? I can´t say...S&G in 2003 125$ was the lower end for the prices ... |

 | Is there going to be an American Express Cardholder PreSale for the Beacon Theatre dates in New York or are the shows only going on sale on the dates given on the website?
The Beacon dates are listed as going on sale March 11th, but is there a presale date before that? Does anyone know?
I have tickets so far this year to see Elton John and Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks in March.
I must see Paul this year and I am willing to pay any price. I am in my twenties and I feel like I should see all of the legends of music before it is too late. |

 | The Chicago Theater holds about 3500 people and is a beautiful venue--right in the center of the city. Too bad he is not going to the places planned from last spring. |

 | I´m planning on at least two shows...The closest to me is Toronto (5/6)- so that´s almost a given... NYC (5/10 & 11 with Yankees-Braves afternoon game on 5/11), Atlantic City(5/28) & Mashantucket, CT (5/29 with Mets-Phillies afternoon game at Citifield on 5/29), & tour closer in Boston (6/1 with Red Sox-White Sox afternoon game at Fenway)...
My dream would be Toronto- one NYC show with Yankees game...either CT or Atlantic City with the Mets game...and Boston with the Red Sox game |
