I was lucky enough to be passing through dublin airport when he was making an appearance for a tribute to seamus heaney. i didn't feel it was appropriate to try to shake his hand while he was surrounded by heaney family so i just stood and watched. there was a lull in the photographer mayhem and he looked over at me. i smiled and he smiled right back
