| Hello everyone,
I have a question about the last verse in The Sounds of Silence. Thought the entire song it seems as though the message is about an individual struggling with mass media and "neon" lights. However, in the last verse the lyrics talk about the neon sign flashing the warning in the words of prophets on the subway walls and tenement halls. I'm confused as to what the meaning if the lyrics are. If the neon lights and the 10,000 are the "fools," then how is the sign correct in warning people? Is the warning the incorrect message that only the lonely man sees or is the message correct because it speaks for nasses?
