The book is What Is It All But Luminous: Notes from an Underground Man I got it as an audio book read by Artie himself so easier to pick up the correct tone - a lot of rambling but a few interesting nuggets to be found including the above. I don’t think one page went by without mentioning Paul Simon!

?What is the worst Art has been doing?

(Bodo: and this is the worst thing Art Garfunkel has been doing for years and for years....until now in the Royal Albert Hall lately.)

I am still curious about that, what song(s) could there be that AG would have possible disallow Paul Simon to play live?

It is none of the S&G hits, for sure, as Paul plays them regulary.
It possible can't be any of the "Songbook" songs (like I am a rock, Kathys song... those are 100% PS solo written songs)
It is not "old Friends"
It is not Cecilia, The only living boy, El Condor, Scarborough. He played those

Delight me...

Is it maybe Voices of old people?

Is this the reason Paul Simon never sang Voices of old people live? ;-)

Thanks for the Bridge video.

This one is much better than the one I found last night.
I hope to hear it live soon.

This all depends a lot on the recording quality and position where the person sat -> this video for example sucks IMO
https://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uyezv8oRxso

(I thought the horns and violins are too loud and Pauls voice is hard to hear)

oh BTW: Since the "napoleon" things Garfunkel said about Paul in recent years, I think it is absolute okay that Paul
a) closed the door forever and
b) erases Garfunkel from the solo shows.

Art acted very unprofessional in 2010, singin at the NO Jazz Festival without any voice (this could ruin Pauls legacy too), saying his voice would be okay for the tour 2 months later, postponing the tour to fall saying it will be fine then, making them both pay 1 Million USD on cancellation fees, still pretending his voice will be okay.
He pissed on Paul.
Later he said Paul is a jerk.

There is no need to say nice things about Art Garfunkel now during Paul Simon shows.
There is also no place for nasty things. Paul maybe wrote his best song ever when he wrote Bridge. I am glad he is playing that song live, cause some artists would maybe abandon a song that is connected to "another" singer from their setlist.

Maybe it was something to do with royalties Rather than an absolute ban on Paul playing S&G songs.

In the Hilburn biography there is a comment that ‘voices of old people’ would be requested at live S&G concerts :))

To all people on this forum: I have been following Art Garfunkel since he lost his voice (and - of course -not telling this fact of loosing his voice to Paul Simon).Bodo told us already. In 2010 the second row of "The Old Friends" concerts were started: we all know the firat one was in New Orleans Jezz Fest April 2010. Because of the fact Art did not tell this to Paul Simon Paul Simon was done with Art Garfunkel Art told him about this fact that already happened in the beginning of January 2010. Art is telling different stories about this fact of losing this voice I don`t beleive hiim anymore.

When Paul Simon was noticed Art lost his voice: He was the one who had an still has nothing to loose; only to win like Paul did by the decision he took for splitting up in 1970.

Art Garfunkel was the loser in all games he played with Paul Simon. Paul Simon was and is the REAL GENIUS behind SandG and - of course - himself by a very succesful solo-career.
I know I am able to download the book of Art Garfunkel but I am getting sick when I hear his voice.

Bodo; people who like to hear Art Garfunkel in concert will always be his fans. I swear you really.

Lately he was in Holland for giving a concert I did not go to Amsterdam although I bought a ticket.

First reason was the severe weather and the second one was the following.

After reading enough reviews from the side of Robert Hilburn I really hate AG and his "two men band" with their arrogancy on stage. Leaving fans behind on the backstage door who wanted a autobiograph in the pouring rain for three quart of an hour. He refused this duly requests and went off in a car. What the Hell he`s thinking he is??Nuts and only nuts not evento be compared to God.

I happened to find a few recordings coming from his concert in the Royal Albert Hall on 31 of May 2018 two days later.
I will post here one of this vids to your kind attention .

And for Mog: please listen to Art Garfunkel`s redention of BOTW and I wish you a bunch of fun!

Hey, but wait...

@Gerard: who are you exactly to tell me to stop 'negative comments' ? Can we still express ourselves here or you guys want it to be sanitized like social medias forums ? I have been participating in forums like this one since 1997, had a website on PS for 10 years and saw him 10 times live. A bit of respect, please.

If one actually *reads* my original post on this thread, you will see that I actually say good things about the show, which I enjoyed very much. And sorry for Gerard, but I did comment on the new guitarist.

My two points are very simple: (1) could have been nice to have some S&G pics in the career recap. People would have applauded, and it would have been the end. Six people who were with me at the show thought about that. They must be all stupid, I guess. Anyhow, you guys do not agree; ok, that's fine. (2) I don't buy the reason PS is mentioning in trying to do BOTW. I think it hides the elephant in the room. I am not the only person to have seen it, read the Mtl Gazette Review, which link I have provided previously. Once again, you don't agree; no big deal.

But...to call for people to censor themselves ? Wait a minute.

Still, I will let you have your PS moment where everything he does is wonderful and right.

Simonwonderland. Even the sound of him flushing the toilet must be great. Because that's the last tour...

I perfectly understand why Paul does not give any room for AG applause ;-)
