I anticipate that the song list for the 2017 tour will be similar to 2016. But if you could select some of the songs what would you pick?

My first choice would be Senorita With a Necklace of Tears, followed by Something So Right and Some Folks Lives Roll Easy.

Yes Richard I agree it will most likely be very similar. But that's ok by me. It was a really good set list. Like your suggestions too. Would not mind seeing" Crazy Love"
again and maybe 'Cool Papa Bell " Also 'You're Kind" Saw a more upbeat version of it the other day from SNL 1977 and think it might go down well.

Run That body down and Was a sunny day instead of Cool, cool river. Woud be about the same length and more agreeable for most people.

I'd like a concert without all the 'hits'. Some Capeman-songs like Bernadette, St. Judy's comet, Born at the right time, The late great Johnny Ace, Jonah, Questions for the angels, Cool Papa Bell, Love and hard times, Papa Hobo (and many more).

Guess we all our favourites we would like Paul to sing but the hits and well known songs are what the majority of the audience pay to hear. He usually does sing a couple of lesser known song for the diehards. Cool Cool River is one of my favourites ! His best solo song maybe .

Thanks Richard for bringing some life into the forum ;-)

Uh, hard question - I think over the past 15 years Paul already fullfilled a lot of my requests (not that he knew about them...just by his own selection)

I always wished (in 2002 till 2010) that he would play

Hearts and Bones,
The only living boy in New York,
Under African skies
Crazy Love Vol.2
I know what I know
The cool cool River
Peace like a River
Duncan
The obvious child

So thats all done, wow ;-)

Whats still on my list?

Jonah
Another Galaxy
Born at the right time (he did once or twice)
Bernadette
Rene and Georgette..
Born in Puerto Rico
Learn how to fall
Train in the distance
Take me to the mardi gras.

It is even such a long time ago, that I think he should add Johnny Ace again.

Oh yes, Cool Papa Bell would be right.

I think some of the new songs just do not work well when played live, they are too complicated. Cool Papa Bell would work.

It would obviously be easier to name songs we don`t want.

If Paul would invite his very very dear old friend Art Garfunkel they could have a 4 minutes long Dangling Conversation.

This could be a good rendition of the song "Voices of old People" from the Album Bookends.

But afterwards Garfunkel would have to leave the stage...

The danger would be that he'd leave just as they were about to start to sing!!!

True Scaaty ! Paul really dislikes The Dangling Conversation. Maybe they might both walk off !

It was always a great strength of Paul to be critical and prepared to dislike some of his earlier work, as the third ("added on") verse of Bridge or the last verse of Slip Slidin`away.

In fact he tried to create a really great song with The Dangling Conversation.

S&G had three Hits with SOS, I am a rock and Homeward Bound and this should be the biggest hit.

It wasn`t and once I read a book naming the worst songs of all time and The Dangling Conversation was one of them.

A "teaching" song which Paul later disliked and I can`t think of another song after 1970 to teach something. "The Teacher" is deninitely not teaching!

Don't think it will be much/any changes from last years setlists.
Maybe he could replace Obvious Child, CCR, and Spirit Voices with some other songs from ROTS such as BATRT, The Coast, She Moves On or Proof.

Songs I would love to hear performed live;

Proof of Love
Love and Blessings
Late Great Johnny
Mardi Gras
Senorita
Darling Lorraine
Jonah
Once Upon a Time There Was an Ocean (in some rearranged/acoustic version)
Ten Years

Thanks for all the interesting suggestions!

Here is another thought -- what if Paul tried a few medleys of his own songs, for example a start with Thelma, then merge into Something So Right and then end it with Darling Lorraine -- as if mapping the entire course of a love affair, the 'arc of a love affair.' (I omitted Hearts and Bones not because I don't love it -- I do -- but because he has done that one often in concert.)
