It seems that this is just a cobbled up album by a fan. It was posted and discussed on the AG forum last year by Fernando. According to Cher , Citizen of the planet was lifted from the 2004 DVD and the rest from the Vancouver concert of August 22nd 1983.
So , the search continues for the real recording of the "think too much " album

I heard it was a highly restorated live recording (it is a little bit overdone and sounds artifical now). But a nice attempt on creating the idea of how it might have sound.

So, at least 2 musicians (or engineers) of the H&B sessions said they have the finished S&G album at home. I guess they are talking about the circulating bootleg... I somehow doubt that Paul would have given more out of the studio.

I was thinking the same myself - the cover art is more like the late 80s /90s paul Simon album covers that an S&G one.

Having attended the s&g concert in '82 I was of the many s&g (& garfunkel not simon) fans who bought h&b expecting some s&g material on it. However it very soon became and remains my all time favourite album and since then Paul Simon my favourite artist. Hearts & bones is quintessential Paul Simon and I would not be happy if the 'alternative' was brought out.

Thanks Julie for your invitation for joining this topic to discuss the album.

I am not an expert regarding Paul Simon`s albums. But I succeedded in finding the entire Vancouver-post and I will compare the stuff with the one I put on this forum last night.

It is a pity but all this work has been too much for me: I badly need a rest for "Thinking Too Much". ;)!

At this moment I am disabled to do a long contribution but I found a link discussing both records. I have not the slightest idea if this is really been posted yet: better two than none! Link:

For those who do not have the possession of this bootleg please p.m. me, because I do not know wether Bodo allows me to put links to a bootleg site.

I succeeded in finding some numbers on You Tube, that are also to be found on the posted LP "Think too Much". You all know I am not an expert in listening to the differences between the songs sung during this live concert and The Think too Much Album: I only post this stuff because I like to post it. Real fans know these works (there is also a Simon and Garfunkel bootleg Hearts and Bones): perhaps some members on this forum are in the possession of this bootleg.

Otherwise if not: please p.m. me where this one is to be found.

I do not post "One Summer Night" because it is all clear that this is an Art Garfunkel one. It is also a pity that "American Tune"is not to be found on the setlist above.

I am very sorry but I have to give to you YT-files again: I am not able to upload and for me (forgive me) this is the easiest way of working.

This is what I have to share with you all: please take it for granted! Regarding the post of the Art Garfunkel Board I will do a further searching for the following reason. I know the names called in this post are not really S & G experts. If you want really to hear an expert hear please write to Roy Dripps: he really knows everything about S & G; Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. And: As far as I know and I really do not underestimate Brenda: she also knows very much about S & G and Paul Simon. Please Brenda: join the club: I would be grateful to you!

I just read what Cher wrote about the album of which I posted the setlist and the "Citizens of Planet" is not to be found on this list. There is another S & G concert done about the same time and also sung with some new numbers for the new album in a placed named Milwaukee. This bootleg is very hard to be found: just a few numbers on YT! I will also do a search for these numbers and perhaps - if needed - I will post them also here.

I discovered I made a mistake: "Song about the Moon" is also sung by S & G. I was confused with "One Summer Night" sung by Art Garfunkel. Link to "Song about the Moon":

Regarding "Milwaukee" nothing to find about this concert (just no by me).

Just one remark from my side: "Citizens of the Planet" is also not to be found in this Milwaukee-setlist. I do not a further investigation regarding the A.G.Forum message: for me that question has been resolved: if you might think it will be different please feel free to do a search! I won`t be bothered about that!

Even if this isn't the REAL album, it was really interesting to listen to. Great recording of American Tune and a very different recording of The Late Great Johnny Ace. Cars Are Cars is still a nothing song, but I'm glad Artie got some solo lines.
