Well, whom of us might be at the show ;-) Roy?

Anyway, it seems Paul is becomming more and more political within the last decade. I remember him as the guy who only went to South Africa to make music... now he is the guy "collecting" money for politicians.

I would prefer if he would not do that.

Ok, it is nice that these are democrats he supports and so on - but it does not help the world a lot to help a politician to collect money.

Fundraiser concerts should have a direct target. Because supporting a politician does not change anything.

My experience is (and that does not count for the US system, also for all other democratic countries) - there is no change/difference between BLUE/REd or RED/BLACK or what colors your two leading parties have. There never was any difference in my country when the RED or the BLACK party had the power, nor do I see a real change now between OBAMA or BUSH.

So supporting a politican for his election is a waste of time. Sorry Paul.

The article states at the beginning the TOP ticket price is $50000. So the PCCC seems to be incorrect in stating you need $50000 to attend. Guess politicians have to raise funds to finance their campaigns. Up to Paul if he accepted the invitation to perform. I think he will completely ignore the petition like he did the people who tried to get him to cancel appearing in Israel a couple of years ago. As for trying to contact him on his Twitter account ,Good Luck to them. Last post was in Sept 2012! In Australia a couple of weeks ago both leading parties agreed to finance their election campaigns from taxpayer money and had to drop the idea the next day due to a massive outcry from voters.

Our Democratic party no longer stands for democracy. It is
very socialist and some communists in there as well. Our whole
country is changing. I know Europe has many socialist parties,
but I do not like them. Not that the Republicans are any better. We do not want the state to take health care away from
us and have some one in the IRS to decide if we get the medicine or operations we need, no longer, in October in the hands of the doctors. It has changed drastically in the last few years. And the scandals keep coming. This is not the party of JFK or Ronald Reagon.

From what I've heard about the US medical system it's neither the doctors nor the IRS That decide on your treatmentit is the size of your bank balance. And banks are interested in only one thing - profit.

Wasn't Reagan a republican?

Anthony - the only info you get about so called 'socialist' parties in europe is from your republican TV stations. And all they are telling are lies.
Pause.

In 1980 Paul Simon said "I hope Ronald Reagan gets it right". His real enemy was Richard Nixon. And Reagan got it right! He was the real and main person who ended the cold war.

Not Gorbatchov. He had to accept the facts. That socialism is not human.

I`m glad that Paul Simon did not write political songs. With very simple statements like Bob Dylan or Joan Baez or many other Pop_stars shouted including freedom, peace and so on.

The really problem is when doing political statements as an artist, you can be completely wrong and you will realize it afterwards.

"In some ways I'm disappointed, but in some ways it was silly to expect more," Joan Baez about Barack Obama

Paul should have a serious talk with his old friend Joan.
