 | curious if anyone knows what the notations mean in both margins. again, I think it came from the drummer, tho it was handed off by Mark Stewart. |

 | Ok. I do not like to say that I do not like something, but I
wish he would play at least 6 numbers from the new album.
Now it is 4 new numbers, while there are still 5 songs from Graceland on that list.
CAPEMAN/YTO/SURPRISE do not exist anymore.
Oh, they did not play the last 2 songs I guess?
http://www.paul-simon.info/PHP/showreview.php?id_c oncert=1149
Or does that mean that he could play one of those 3? |

 | I Love everything he´s singing here. We´re lucky to get Obvious Child and Hearts And Bones. But of course, there´s bound to be people upset with his setlist. He can´t keep all of his fans happy! |

 | and I remember not long ago people were giving out that he doesn´t have much ROTS in his setlist.. Now he does and there´s still complaints. I wish people would just be happy that he´s touring at all! |

 | Paul has so many terrific songs, he could easily make a setlist of 40 songs :)
I like this tour very much and am looking forward to his tour in Europe, about 6 weeks before I will see him in Cork.

 | There is one song from "Surprise", which is "Father & Daughter" (even though technically it was an earlier song that got sort of tagged on to that album)...and I´m still thinking that "Darling Lorraine" might make an appearance later on in the tour. He mentioned it in a few interviews, and we are still only about half way through the North American Tour.
A common trend is that the album before the new album usually gets really slighted on the tour after it comes out..."Surprise" would be the most likely victim here, but at least he´s doing one song off of it.
As far as the new album is concerned...We´ve had 13 shows this tour, and he´s always played- "Dazzling Blue", "Rewrite" & "So Beautiful Or So What", and "Love Is Eternal Sacred Light" is almost as sure a bet, having appeared 11 times- and even twice at one show.. For a while he seemed to be doing either "Questions For The Angels" (twice), or "Love In Hard Times" (four times), at around the 12th song mark in the show, but neither was played in Toronto..."Getting Ready For Christmas Day" has been done three times, and "The Afterlife" has seen five performances. So he´s chosen to feature 8 of the ten songs on the album, so far, and you can count on at least 4, minimum, per show (three are certain, and another as close to a sure bet), and he´s done as many as 7, and 6 another night. I think it depends on the show. I can certainly agree that I´d like to see lots of material from his great new album!!
I hope he gets to do 3 songs on SNL this weekend...if so I´d love to see all 3 be new, but my bet is it´d be 2 new & 1 oldie. |

 | My opinion...instead of leaving out NEW songs, he could skip (sometimes) songs like : 50 ways, Kodachrome, Slip sliding, Boy in the bubble, Still crazy. Have heard them on nearly every show in the last 10 years.
I am more interested in hearing a live performance of the new material, so it does not matter if he leaves out some ROTS or often played Graceland songs for example.
What I meant when I posted this messag is, that the tour seems to get it´s typical development: New and unknown songs get replaced by older standard hit´s. I hope some of them find their way back onto the setlist.
Interesting numbers on that paper yes...101, 111,110,92....127, |

 | I think the numbers are beats per minute? Maybe these tracks use an electronic track and have to be set on the macbook or a drum machine? |

 | As you write that I just remember that someone wrote something like "127 ppm, thats an easy one" on this remix-contest page about LIESL. So I would say you are absolute right.
So they are using drum machines at the concert? :) |
