| yeah that was my list too, but of course that´s five dvd´s. so now i´m not so sure about the live rhymin´ dvd. and that´s the one i really wouldn´t do without. maybe the only dvd´s available on blu-ray will be YTO: live in Paris and s& g: Old Friends live in concert. can´t imagine any of the others were filmed in hd. |

| Nothing has been recorded in HD Modus - but does that matter? You can release it again on Blue Ray, and people will buy it.
And in 5-6 years you release a 3D version. |

| well bodo, it says on several websites that both cp91 and live rhymin´ will be released on dvd. and since a video of sos from that tour exists, it seems possible that a full concert was recorded. |

Well, Kris - I really would wait on a reliable source before saying it will be released on DVD. In this (above mentioned) thread I read messages from very reliable persons that nothing is clear - better wait.
And websites (like this one too) tend to copy all news, so if the same message appears on 20 sites it does not mean that it is more reliable ;-)
I see only this source, saying:

Well, it is written as if the discography already includes those live recordings on DVD... strange, isn´t it?
And then it mentions those other 4 videos on DVD (as not so important or what - I think Graceland 1987 was his landmark show)
At the Tower Theater (1980); Graceland: The African Concert (1991); You`re The One: In Concert from Paris (2001); and Paul Simon and Friends: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song (2009).
Now the next source says only 4 DVD´s will be re-issued. With lower expectations I could make this list.

Ouch.
Don´t get me wrong, I would be happy about those 2 shows. But I am waiting since 10 years now on a release of the CP 1991 concert, so maybe I am just realistic.

| Re-reading the full press release, it seems they are indeed releasing those two. I know the "both on album and DVD" wasn´t clear whether it meant just CP91 or CP91 + Live Rhymin, but there´s clarification later in the press release.

After the quote kris mentioned, they go onto discuss live DVDs that will be released on video only (no album):
"In addition to Live Rhymin´ and Concert In The Park, Simon´s catalog provides further video chronicles of his career: Paul Simon in Concert At the Tower Theater (1980); Graceland: The African Concert (1991); You´re The One: In Concert from Paris (2001); and Paul Simon and Friends: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song (2009). Simon´s reunions with Art Garfunkel are also well-chronicled on album and DVD: the historic Concert In Central Park (September 19, 1981, attended by over 500,000 people) and Old Friends: Live on Stage (2004)."
The start of that sentence does make it clear that Live Rhymin was video´d and that they´re planning to release that. |

| I´m not sure the Direct Current Music particularly clashes in anyway with the idea they´re releasing CP91 & Live Rhymin.
The article says they´re reissuing four live DVDs, well they can only reissue what´s already been released so that is the Tower, Graceland, YTO & PS&Friends.
I think the press release does state Sony´s intention to release Live Rhymin & CP91 on DVD. Whether that happens, who knows, but I think they certainly think they will be doing that. |
