Paul Simon´s new CD is delayed. No do not quote me on this. Is Paul´s CD release delay due to his swaping back to Columbia Records and everyone behind the seasons still sorting the new deal.

Why has Paul deecied to return to Colubbia/Sony. Will his Live Concerts be rereleased on Columbia/Sony.

Another reason for swaping lables might be due to Paul enjoying performing with Art a lot. Record lables have to give permission for their artists to appear on another artists CD especialy if they are on different lables.

So now that Paul and Art are back on Columbia its easier to do join together both on stage and on CD.

As to when the New Paul Simon CD is due who knows I just hope that the wait is worth while and that its as fantastic as the last CD.

I would also like to finaly hopefully have Simon and Garfunkel return together to the UK and do a series of concerts here as I have only ever seen them solo. It would for me be the iceing on the cake.

I also hope that Paul tours the new album too.

I guess we are not happy with the delays and have to just wait.

Well what do all think maybe Paul will release the CD October 13th (his 70th Birthday)

Who knows I just can not wait to read your comments and reviews when the album does get released.

Delays delays oh the joy of waiting.

I have a magic 8 ball i asked will Paul´s CD be released early next year. Its answer "Too early to predict"

Ok everyone what do you think?

what is your source on the delay? this sounds like Old news - the Sony deal for sure is old.

I have yet to see a credible source for a delay to ´early next year´ which I read as Jan. or Feb.

Sadly I have no source other than to coble the thoughts of the forum together. These are just my ideas. I at present only get updated via the forum. So who knows when we get actual information through the official sources ie Sony Records.

good. I know Paul being Paul may mean delays. but then we automatically jump to that conclusion. Let´s hope he stays on schedule. Album, small venue tour . . . would make a lot of fans so happy.

It is me making trouble...I only see problems. A S&G tour and a Paul Simon solo show in the same year, thats not a good idea I guess.
And: As AG was always right with his comments about upcomming tours and concerts, I feel that this could interrupt Pauls solo projects. Well, I will not blame AG for that, I feel that Paul is happy on doin´ these S&G shows again and again. We are only a handfull of people who can realize the beauty in Pauls new songs. The rest of his followers are happy when he is singin The Boxer and mrs. robinson for 2000 times till his death.

And: I saw the Bill Wither documentary yesterday. I did not know anything about this guy before, but I realized how happy we can be, that Paul is still recording, giving concerts, and Paul is in such a good shape. Bill is nearly at the same age than Paul, but hey, he looks and walks like a 70 year Old grandfather. Our Paul looks like a young rap-musician compared to him ;-).
But that was not my point. Bill Withers made his last album in 1985. After that he just didn´t feel the need of doin anything more.
As a fan, this must be really annoying.

Just imagine Paul would have given up recording after Graceland. Well, most of the people would not realize it, because Paul had ALL of his known hits until that album, and the mass of people do not recognize any song from ROTS, Capeman, YTO or Surprise. (How should they, its not played on the radio)

And hey, Bill Withers had some great recordings everyone knows...

Why making a topic on delays when it is based on nothing much ?

It misled me !!

I agree, I think we´re all over reacting, and until we hear otherwise, we should still assume the cd will be out Jan/Feb 2011. I´ve just checked Steve Gadd´s schedule, and he´s only got one show booked with Edie Brickell for April; otherwise, he´s touring with Clapton in May and June and I think Jan & Feb. So, if there is a delay, it won´t be because of Edie´s schedule, unless more dates are added

That Christmas song could easily be a hit! It sounds incredible and we´ve only heard the preview!

A hit? haha
If Paul would wear a meat-costume maybe. Today a hit has nothing to do with the music. But thats fine, we have our choice.

True. I was thinking more along the lines of Christmas stations, cause they rarely get good new Christmas songs. But the radio is dominated by business so you´re probably right.

Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times just tweeted "COMING NEXT SPRING ... a Brilliant new album from PAUL SIMON....titled "So Beautiful Or So What". Easily his best since Graceland"

I wonder if any of these tweets are founded on an actual listening of the album, or just the RS tidbit just recycled and spinned again & again.
