Oh thanks, no problem - if you would have said who it was, I would have taken my car, drove to Frankfurt, and then drove to Barcelona ;-) No I am joking, it is too far.
Can´t say how far, but might be around 3000 Miles or more.

To clear this up a little bit - I know the forum guest in person, and it was true: Mark Stewart was in Europe during the first volcan erruption. And he urgently need to fly home for the S&G touring rehearsal starting the next day. (Mark is the musical director as far as I am informed at the moment)

I guess he might have found a way to drive to Barcelona (a cab for a few thousand euros would do it, maybe he could put it on the expenses bill of Paul...)

I heard that John Cleese also had a taxi ride trough Europe - right?

Paris, not Barcelona, sorry.

Well, thats not really a far travel. By train it might have only taken him 5-6 hours?

I wonder what it can mean to be "musical director" in a Paul Simon band. I have the feeling that while Paul is probably pretty open to highlighting all the players, the overall musical direction comes from him. Looked that way in some clips I saw from Capeman rehearsals too. Well, after all, they are his songs, and he is pretty accomplished.
