 | Just made another discovery. Thought I´d check out what´s out there about Edie Brickell, since she´s married to Paul, and found that her song ´Good Times´ was the sample video on Windows 95. When I left work to start our family in ´94 I spent lots of money on a new computer when windows 95 first came out, and I remember this video and loved it, such a cool relaxed song and great video clip. I wonder how she managed to get onto Microsoft to include it.
I Love also that the kids didn´t know she was a ´pop singer´ until one of Adrian´s friends told them that his parents had a one of her records.
Here´s a Rolling stones interview I read.

 | Good on you Helen. it is absolutely my favourite song of hers. such a lot of feeling in it for her age when she recorded it. she has a lovely accent too. |

 | I remember ´What I Am´ from 1988 (didn´t pay attention to the artist back then) and ´Circle´ was apparently played on a Cold Case episode ("The Sleepover (2004)" always such tear jerker endings when the song plays) so she´s done some good work. I´ll have to investigate some more. |

 | Edie used to upload a lot of songs at http://www.myspace.com/brickellephant, it´s quiet there now. She also formed a group with Martha Wainwright, The Bossa Me. You can listen to their songs on http://www.myspace.com/thebossame
Edie also formed a group with Steve Gadd, The Gaddabouts, you can listen to shortcuts of these songs at http://www.thegaddabouts.com/ (use the right button)
For a long time now (since February 2009) there are plans to put the album out officially but Steve Gadd has a very busy schedule. I hope he will find the time to finish this project this year.
http://www.woyaho.com/ is a nice fan site about Edie & New Bohemians.

 | Hi Ans, thanks for the info and the links. I now have to find out about the Wainwrights. On ´Spectacle: Elvis Costello with´ Rufus Wainwright was on and performed. I wonder if he might have Paul Simon on the show as Elvis must have some respect for him, because he sang ´Peace Like A River´ and ´American Tune´ on a PS tribute album (recorded at Montreal JAZZ Festival in 2006. Is that the one Paul didn´t turn up to?) It would be a great Surprise to see him interviewed. They have some good guests, but I can´t get to see all the shows. Better start recording them. I like the episode with Diana Krall (who is Elvis Costellos wife) and Elton John who was a favourite of mine in early days. The link for Spectacle is here.

 | Paul Simon is on the list of potential musical guests for Spectacle. You can leave comments to add names to the list.

He is actually mentioned 5 times on the site (searching the site), once comparing ´haunting quality of Daniel Rossen?s vocals´ ´Rossen (who is well on his way to becoming the next Paul Simon)´.
The Bruce springsteen appearance will go over two episodes, I´ll be looking out for that one. |

 | I´ve posted a separate thread about the ´Spectacle:Elvis Costello with´.
I wonder if they´ll put out an album of the ´Cold Case´ songs, I spent ages trying to find the right version of ´In the arms of an Angel´ which played at the end of a particularly sad episode. It was by Celtic Angels and is on the ´Celtic Woman´ album. It is one of the few non Paul Simon songs on my iPod. |

 | Brenda,
Did you know that Kasey Chambers (Aussie) covered Edie Brickell´s ´Circle´ as a B-side track to her ´Nothing at All´ single. It´s not covered on an album tho. |

 | Ans, did you know that you can download to your computer the video clips for her songs at the http://www.woyaho.com/video.php page. right click on the image and click ´save target as´. I´m conscious of the download usage but the 15yo has been away for 10 days so hopefully it won´t get used this month. I Love the clips and the songs, I´m very excited. |
