Saw the One Trick Pony movie last night, something I wanted to do for more than 20 years (brought the disk in around ´83).
I was just blown away.

I have always thought that "OTP" was better than it was given credit for. I Love the music, and I thought Paul did a good job.

OTP is one of my favourite albums, and the movie is an excellent framework for Paul´s music.

I first saw it about 15 years ago on on Channel 4, when I got a phone call at 23.55 pm from a friend telling me a Paul Simon movie was about to start on the box! I had to put my drunken state aside and forced myself to stay up and watch it... for me it is a late night movie to be enjoyed with a drink :-)

Oh, and the sight of Steve Gadd high on dope will stay with me to the grave!

Nick from Widnes England Writes:

I managed to get a hold of One Trick Pony when it was first broadcast in the UK a few Years back. OTP was broadcast on New Years Eve on BBC2.

A great movie in its own right, complete with special guests probably at request of the label Warner Brothers the guest being:

The B52´s and The Lovin Spoonful.

Although the script could have done with a bit more polish, I think it was an acurate picture about the lonleness of the road for an aging musician who failed to understand that he was never going to make it as star. A true One Trick Pony the character Jonah Levein only had one hit "Soft Parachutes" an anti war song.

What if Paul Simon only had one hit record. hang on if that was the case then this forum would not exist!!!

I Love that film too. When it came on German TV in the 80s my Mum noticed it and recorded it for me. Have watched it a lot of times since.
