That is the shape of the screen. Normal monitor TVs are 4.3 and the 16.9 one is a widescreen format. If you have an Old TV, you´ll just get the letterbox effect so nothing to worry about.

Ships to the US is no problem as they´ll be available through other vendors and on eBay so we´ll be able to get our hands on them. The VHS (NTSC) was US-only but I have a copy at home.

I saw the movie fifteen years ago and a few weeks ago. I really didn´t like it ´cause he´s just not a good actor (understatement of the year), but I kinda liked the script. Remember the scene were Paul (excuse me, Jonah) and Steve Gadd step out of the bus and find out that the venue is closed and says: "I can´t believe this!!" That was so terrible... or when he smashed the cereal and yelled at his former wife... Quite embarassing.

Love the soundtrack though :)

Hm

Well I thought Paul acts nice, but I really dislike the script :-D

Well - compared to most TV actors he is IMO much better, but sure, you can not compare him to some star. He acts better than Arnold Schwarzenegger for sure ;)

Hi Matthew, sorry,I certainly understand the difference between 16:9 and 4:3-what I don´t understand is the term FULL SCREEN being used in conjunction with the ratio of 16:9. It must be a mistake. It should either read 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 fullscreen,NOT 16:9 FULLSCREEN. That´s what I meant. Manus,it´s funny that the two scenes you singled out,are two of my favourite scenes. I actually think Paul is quite a good actor. Not at all embarrassing. Another understated and realistic piece of acting from Paul, was in the scene in the cafe??where Jonah is phoning his managers wife. After the phone call,Richard Tee´s character Clarence berates Jonah for not having checked out whether the gig was still on. Clarence threatens to leave the band in a fashion and both Jonah Levin´s response, and Paul Simon´s acting are spot on in my opinion.

Well I guess the movie is not for all Paul Simon fans I guess. I agree that Richard really can act.

My favourite scene was the last one (not because the films was over after that :)) when Jonah rolls the reels down the street.

I just ordered it. The shipping is free and it said delivery in 7 days. He´s not the greatest actor in the world but I enjoyed it.

Yeah Manus,I also like the ending, but about 10 years ago,I played it for some friends and I think they found the ending a little too enigmatic. They didn´t cop to the frustrated artist element at all. They also thought there was too much music. There probably is,but where else are we going to find live footage of Paul playing Long,Long Day? It´s worth it for that anyway.

Long long day is indeed a highlight in the movie. One of my favourite OTP tracksI think I could even cope with more music in the film :)
