 | I have been playing Duncan for years, using my own improvised PS style fingerpicking pattern, but try as I might I cannot emulate the same sound as the live Rhymin´ concert pattern that Paul uses.
Can anyone help me? Thanks is advance! D.

 | Hi Danny J,I´ll see if I can start you off. Playing an E minor chord, try this variation on the Travis method- 6-4-6-2-4-6-4-6-2-4 etc. Actually Danny,I believe one of the tabs on this very site has this in proper tab form. Start slowly,to get the alternating thumb going between the sixth and fourth strings.Good luck! |

 | Cheers Ian... I´ll give it a go!
I just watched Paul & Eddie on youtube playing Anji together... made me feel quite inadequate! |

 | It´s easy, Danny :)
Look through the Brad Priddy´s site - he did a great job! My dream is to make my own PS tabs site ;) |

 | Hi Danny J,yeah, practice is the key of course. That first picking progression I posted is soon embellished with further notes after just a couple of bars, but I think it´s important to get the alternating thumb notes between the octave E´s going first-from there the other fingers will find their place. Actually, thanks to your asking about that particular version of ´Duncan´ Danny,I have worked out an arrangment of the song, keeping the major elements of Paul´s guitar parts, and added to that another part which replicates in a fashion the harmonic territory of the Urubamba instruments. It´s a little tricky to play and sing at the same time though. It can be done more accurately with 2 guitars, but can be faked with one guitar if required. |
