 | An observation of mine from the past few months of Paul´s interviews..Have any of you noticed his favorite word is "interesting"? He changes this, he changes that, he does this, that to make the music/song "interesting"...says he gets bored easily......
Just thought his favorite word was "interesting" enough to mention. |

 | Interesting in the latest interview (Bridging the gap) is Paul´s observation of his fans. |

 | Interesting...why hasn´t he a clue about us?
I can only speak for myself but I´m excited that he still makes new music.
If I read the reviews of the fans who were in concert he is also right that the fans are divided, one group that wants to hear the hits and S&G songs and the other group (which I would like to be bigger but isn´t) who want to hear the new songs. |

 | Hey Ans, you are right, but what is the point of this story?
It is more important that we are interested in him! |

 | I think he could risc at least a little bit more - he is only doing a minimum on promoting his new album (playing only 4 songs live...), and when he adds another song to his setlist it is again a hit (like Late In The Evening, Bridge, 50 ways)
IMO he does not have to do that, he could play about 5 - 7 unknown songs and the ´normal´ fans would be pleased too if they hear Bridge, Boxer and You Can Call Me Al. |

 | I agree with you Bodo, I think it would help to promote more and he could have done more with the new album, for example a cardboard box or add a dvd with some clips and not to mention his site, that is really poor.
And definitley more unknown songs, I was disappointed that he added 50 ways, he has hits enough in his setlist.
Well Klausi, it is also nice if Paul is interested in his real and loyal fans.

 | April 27
In the next couple weeks we´ll be adding more songs, interviews, and tour dates. Be sure to check back often to see the new Paulsimon.com.
The new paulsimon.com is even more worse than the Old one.
No discography, no lyrics, no videos, no manuscripts...

 | Here are my two cents worth-- I agree that he could do more new songs, as they are certainly worthy, if not generally known. I also agree that the "official" site is useless. It is a shame, really.
But on the other hand, PS may feel that this is the last time he can tour with Steve Gadd, so he should do 50 Ways. When I saw the Holmdel show, I was annoyed (among other things) that he had Steve Gadd, but failed to do that one.
So, from my perspective it is not a bad thing for him to choose some of the Old songs, you know. Please keep in mind for us oldsters, that each time we see PS we figure it may be our last chance to see him in concert. For example, I Love to see him do "Only Livin´ Boy in New York" because when that song first came out it meant the World to me (it still does). I am spending a ton of money to see him in Radio City because I am afraid that it may be his last NYC concert. (I hope that in 10 and 20 years I can send the same message again!!) But just in case--
So, in summary, in my opinion, in concert he needs to continue to attempt a balance between old and new, for posterity as well as modernity...
but we ALL AGREE his website stinks!!
And this site is the place to be. |

 | Okay, 50 ways is great to hear in concert with Steve Gadd, but he could have changed this song with another song from the setlist. When you see the setlist of the 2000/2001 tour there were generally 6 songs of You´re The One and he varied some songs like Love, Pigs, Sheep & Wolves, Look at That.
That´s my concern, his new album is so good that it deserves more promotion.
But when I read the reviews I am sure his concerts will be great and I´m looking forward to the chance of seeing him in Glasgow. |
