Thanks Ans for these news.

Well, maybe the album will really be released on March 28...with no advertising, and Nobody knows...and you can buy it nowhere :-) But it is really very weird that we don´t get any news from Paul Simon self.

Well, if it´s true, it means Paul has a very weird way to communicate and a very weird Public Relation...

Well, what can I say? If Paul releases the new album this month, I´ll overlook his long silence. Who here believes it will be released this month?

Thank you Ans!

In our small-city newspaper I read, that there will be a Festival in New York with many stars to help New Orleans again. May or June.

Now I am (95 percent) shure, that Simon will play at the New Orleans Jazz-Festival in May and use this and maybe the above mentioned event as good (and helpful) chance to promote his new album.

In the past, only few Simon-albums were announced.

They just happened.

I just thought the same Bodo :-)
Just imagine you walk through a CD store and then, thumbing through the letter "S", you discover a new Paul Simon album! How strange would that be? Paul, please do SOME advertising at last!

That happened to me with "Songs From The Capeman"

But I thought with YTO his promotion has become a little bit better.

I asked at Warner last week if they have a release date for Paul Simon, and got back an email that they don´t know anything. That sounds very strange, doesn´t it? I mean if it will be released in 2 or 3 weeks at least Warner should know. Or will Paul Surprise hiw music label too :-) ?

The album the fans had waited for most eagerly was "Think too much" by Simon and Garfunkel.

And the album the world really was not waiting for was "Graceland". Number one in the UK within three weeks. England is the country which by far has the most ambitious listeners.(and the most stars, compared to it`s size).

So no advertising is no problem. Many debut-records (Jewel, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega, Ricky Lee Jones) became big hits.

Eva Cassidy was already dead, when she became a star.

To be dead is quite a good advertising, as you can see with Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis Presley.

But I would prefer Simon staying alive and making another new album. More would be difficult. One day he is Old, even compared to god...

Sure, but they did not have to wait for 4 years :-) (or 6 years alltogether since YTO)

The frustrating thing is that after he had finished YTO, I remember him saying it was one of the most spontanious and enjoyable albums to make, making me think (wrongly) that he would put his next album out much quicker.

I´m really looking forward to the new one, and I wish it had more publicity, because it is likely to be so much better than a lot of the material that record companies shovels millions on to publicise!

Txxx
