 | That´s true Bodo but I think that I Do It For Your Love was Hancock´s choice. He chose Take Me To The Mardi Gras because it references New Orleans and he always plays Crazy or The Boxer when he doesn´t have a band with him because he can perform them with a very small group of musicians |

 | For Canadian fans -- according to the Showbiz section of http://www.canoe.ca, Paul Simon´s album will reach us by late March 2006. No title was mentioned. I think the release date is around March 30th. |

 | And February only 28, thus making the wait in months even shorter. |

 | Hm, life is curious.
We all will die on a certain day, just don`t know this date.
But it comes nearer and nearer.
On the day of the album-release, it is nearer than today.

 | well my next couple of months are completely made. i cannot wait for this to be released. i think that i will be locked inside of a dark room for days with the album playing over and over again to make up for this horribly long wait. very exciting! |

 | According to http://www.kgsr.com interview, Paul´s new album should follow the line of his recent work...
Q: And that was present on "You´re The One." It´s present on Father and Daughter. And I understand you´re working on some new material?
Paul: Yes, that´s so.
Q: Are you far enough into it to where you have an inkling as to where it´s going yet?
Paul: Yeah, just about an inkling. I´m just about that far. I´ve completed a couple of songs. They´re not -- obviously, not exactly like Father and Daughter, but they have that simple, clear kind of simple. Not simple as in simplistic, but a kind of clarity that the music of Father and Daughter has. Which is not surprising, because Father and Daughter comes out of the same musical time frame as what I´m doing now. So I guess I would be able to tell that that´s the music of this particular phase of my thinking. It´s just a bit different from "You´re the One" in that it´s a little bit harder, it´s less about percussion, more about drum kit. And the guitars are like a mix of acoustic and electric. It´s a certain proportional mix that seems to be nice. |

 | Yes, it´s Old one... It seems like Paul had already completed his album far more earlier, than I expected... |

 | oh, wow. i am so excited to hear that he is going in the same line as Father and Daughter. in my VERY humble opinion, i like it more when paul has solid rhythm (like drums) backing his songs instead of lots of percussion. i think that it allows his lyrics more room to move and fill the rest of the song. I AM SO MUCH MORE EXCITED FOR HIS NEW ALBUM NOW!!!!!! YEA!!!! thank you for posting that interview (however Old it might be). you made my day!!! |

 | Hm, I don´t know but for me Father & Daughter wasn´t that exciting. But I´m curious for the new album anyway :-) |

 | Miriam, that´s what I think too. Father & Daughter was too much like today´s music, as for my taste. |

 | Like today´s music?
You mean like ´Push the button...push the button...yeah yeah..push the button...push the button´
Essentially the charts music is death since the mid 90´s, about 10 years later the consumer realised it, and now the music industry wonders why no one is buying their zero-hit-wonder CD´s. So today Madonna has a big hit when she makes a nerving version of Old ABBA songs (who bought that?), but only because people remember the melody and find it good (and are too young and uninterested in music to find the better real versions)
Father & Daughter is a very nice song, has a great guitar lick and melody (and new/good guitar licks are very hard to creat today - and are also very rare), and it has lyrics that everyone can understand (as it was written for a childrens movie). Mainly you have to see it as a movie-song, it shouldn´t stand out, it should just work with the images. It works perfect in the movie.
When Simon say´s his new album will sound like F&D then I believe he means a lot of guitar melodies, fresh and easy flowing, with less rhythm or drum´s. But I´m 100% sure that Jamey Haddad is playing on most of the tracks, he plays a very fine and soft percussion.
