 | Very good, Paul alone with his guitar. I´m so lucky to have the original LP. The back cover has a funny conversation and a explanation about the songs by Judith Piepe. Paul also explains why he didn´t like some of his songs anymore. |

 | It is a very touching album...just a voice and a guitar and sometimes the sound of his foot which gives the rythm...the birth of a great talent... |

Maybe also here one character is missing?
Is it Paul Simon or S&G now?
Or is it "No doubt".. also nice group |

 | Another nice detail of the songbook: Mostly all of the songs are also on the S&G Live in NY 67 CD. If you take the complete songbook PLUS all live-versions of the same songs from the NY 67...it fits perfectly on one disc. So you have a few very good songs as Paul solo songs AND versions with "additional Art".
This disc is perfect if you want to explain something how Simon and Garfunkel works. (Because it makes clear that the songs are Pauls songs, and Art is "only" a -very beautiful- additional part.) |

 | Ahhh, this is a favourite album of mine. I´m very lucky to have this album and it´s been in my pocession for around 10 years now...yikes!!!
I Love the roughness of the whole thing, just Paul and his guitar singing his heart out.
It comes across as such a passionate album, the way he sings the song, that at this stage are still relatively fresh and heartfelt.
At some point I shall purchase the CD as I only have a copy at the moment. My vinyl is safely tucked away in an album box with the rest of my collect, played only the once to record it onto tape all those years ago.
Hugs

 | Hi Guys....just to clarify....for no available please read "now available". But I think most of you got that. Bodo.....you do Love to take my comments apart, don´t you!! The Paul Simon Songbook IS Paul Simon. It is what started him off and made him become what he is now - and always has been. A singer-songwriter. And of course if you took "The Paul Simon Songbook" out of Simon And Garfunkel you are just left with Garfunkel!! How much less fun would that be!!????
Simon and Garfunkel were built on the songs in this album. The all important second album, Sounds Of Silence and the basis Soundtrack for "The Graduate" all stem from this album. Scarbourgh Fair´s canticle is derived from this album. Therefore I maintain....this album is not "only" Paul Simon. It should be seen as a definition for Simon And Garfunkel. And yes, "no doubt" are a nice group. Especially the blonde!! |

 | I agree almost totally with David on this one. One thing, though: No Doubt is a completely uninteresting group that makes entirely dull commercial mainstream crab-music! And the good-looking blond can´t really sing... ;) |

 | You have a point, Søren. But frankly, who is interested in the music. Have you seen the video for "Don´t Speak". No is that HOT, or what! |
