 | But which is the definative version?????? Which of all the versions available is THE ONE???? My number one is the PS Songbook version, with Art Garfunkel´s Ellis Island coming in a VERY close second! |

 | I have about worn out song #5, SOS, on my car CD player of the PS Songbook...but I really don´t have a favorite version...my favorites may be all the live performances of SOS by Paul...or S&G....I think the firenze´91 version is neat with the audience participation...I guess I especially like the performances I have attended...the 2003 and 2004 tours....when I could see and hear at the same time...nothing beats being there... |

 | May I ask what you mean by flat caps should appeal to all Yorkshire Lasses David? Flat caps are rare now and are mostly worn by over 70 year Old blokes, drinking beer and playing dominoes in local pubs.
Yorkshire isn´t just beer, whippets, Bingo and flat caps you know.....lol!
Please don´t give our American friends the wrong idea about Yorkshire!!!

Still think Carrie is the hotter totty. Especially that famous picture of her in the flat cap. (Should appeal to all Yorkshire lasses, actually!)

I agreen Ans. Although I haven´t seen any concerts I´ve heard enough to hear that Arts voice isn´t as good as it once was. Paul continues to get his voice trained, I don´t know if Art does or ever has had it trained.
Artie has always said he´d have never got anywhere without the engine of Paul Simon.
At the concerts it is obvious, from various observations, that Paul deals with the band and not Artie, ergo, Paul is type leader.
Paul did all the writing, except for the odd section. Arie never did, even though Paul had said he felt that there was a writter inside of him, he looked like a writter. Artie has only now started to write, and most of that came from his Still Waters book of poetry (which I might add is rather good).
Just my opnion...lol

Sorry, but I don´t agree with that question, Paul is the leader of the band, he helped Art through the concerts because he stayed calm when Art got confused and made little mistakes during the concert (like in Amsterdam).
Art´s voice isn´t that good anymore and Paul has still a strong voice and his guitarplaying is still excellent.
They aren´t competitive anymore, they are friends now.

Sorry, but in Paris he made a few mistakes or have some problemes with the higher notes...but after all, he´s just a human being...
Nath, you´re right, i didn´t see the "trap"...sometimes, i´m a naive little girl...now, like you, i avoid THE famous subject "PS vs AG"...always the same arguments, again and again...it bothers me, even if sometimes it amuses me because, we, PS´s fans, are sure to have the last word...ooops, sorry, here we go again... :-)

 | I think with the Carrie vs Edie thing, we can never TRULY know how Paul felt about Carrie and how he truly feels about Edie.
But as you have said brandy Paul is calmer and by far more content than he was with Carrie. As I believ I said be for, their relationship was VERY explosive and there for cannot be healthy.
But at the end of the day we shall never know, we can only go on what little info Paul and Edie let loose. They´re very private people, and rightly so, and so really it is of little concern to us and none of our business....Boy am I hot...is it hot in hear? I can feel it boiling my skin...I know because I´m starting to sound like a lawyer amd getting serious *bemuised expression*
Ignore me please!!!

About Paul and Edie . . .
I´d like to say that Paul once called his Love for Carrie "a powerful love", but he has often spoke of how they were "always breaking up" whenever they disagreed, how they fought ALL the time, and how oppposite they were. May I also add that Carrie is MUCH YOUNGER than Paul as well? So I don´t think the age difference matters, in any relationship.

Well it is often said that the size of the nose is indicative of the size of the......you know. And I must confess, I took some pictures of Art Garfunkel in Munich that well........do you guys realise exactly how big that man´s nose is!!!! Art Garfunkel has the biggest nose since Julius Ceaser!!!! Unbelievable! So, never mind the size of Paul´s thingy. Art´s must be enormous!!!!!!!!

 | Just to digress a little..Here´s a bit id useless information about feet size..AND it´s not rude :-P
Did you know that your foot is the same legth as the distance between your wrist and inner elboy. Give it ago, lay your foot on your inner arm between those two spots and you´ll see what I mean :-D
Just thought you´d find it interesting....lol!

 | Well I have never heard about the link between the nose size and other parts of the personage. What I heard was that you can tell the size of a guys doo dad (his ears ;-) ) by the size of his feet...NOT his nose!
What the HELL am I talking about???
Hugs

Marieno wrote on Aug-08 at 14:24
Maybe there is a hidden link between feet and..., as there is a very well known link with the nose (as David recalled it to us)...

 | Although I think all the versions are excellent my favourite would have to be Pauls solo version on Songbook.
Somehow I feel it looses some of it´s meaning once you add another voice....It looses that feeling loneliness. Where as in the Songbook version you feel the loneliness of the lyrics. Somehow it also looses the strength in the orchestrated version.

Oh dear. We do seem to be getting closer to the bottom. Ok, here´s one for you all: I am fascinated and deeply in Love with SOS. I have 72 versions of the song, 65 as MP3 the rest as videos. Can anybody beat that? (Or indeed any other somg with more versions of same song!)
