Just been thinking how we could link up Mog, let me think about it. Bodo is there a way we can talk privately? Am in Prague at the moment- sussed out where the concert is - just up the road actually & saw crowds leaving the concert! Heard a couple of young people discussing music theory - that seemed to be their reason for going! We’re going to Sundays night concert.

Wow! Apparently. Prague is the most beautiful city in Europe! Enjoy the show, Scaaty!

Has anybody here taken a VIP package at one of the shows? If so, do you know the little things that we are supposed to receive as perks?

Yes you’re right Mog Prague is a beautiful city. Tonight’s concert was great - ok a few wobbles- Graceland & Slip Sliddin’ away a bit dodgy but after that was great - some songs were perfect. Question - does anyone know who is the guitarist beside Mark Stewart - I thought it was Harper but I can’t find any mention of him being on the tour! He was brilliant! ! Great to see Steve Gadd there too!

Is this a joke? From the last videos I have seen with Artie, he is in no shape to give concerts.

Ah, these guys, they simply do not know when to stop...

No joke i'm afraid. He is indeed in a bad shape. Well he is almost 85 and he is not like Paul who seems to be very good in shape for his age, still plays the guitar very well and only lost some vocal range. Art has lost a lot off vocal range looking at the clips from his shows in February this year.

Yes Art is walking on a stick. Too bad for him. Well this -concerts - is his life, as it is Paul's. We can't blame one and not the other. Paul lost his hearing on one ear, he is doing only the quiet songs (or more acoustic), and his voice also significant changed since 2018. It's not like a competition who already lost more abilities. We made jokes when Artie brought his son and wife...but, well Paul also brought his wife onto stage now (at least she is a real musician and star haha).

I think they both do exactly the same. Both can't stop. If Paul would not have had a successful operation on his hand in the late 1990s I think, he would have stopped playing the guitar now. In 5 years he might need a stick too, and will he stop then?
I would say they are both 99.9% brothers on how they act.

The thing is, we always adapt to the next step. A lot of people blamed Art Garfunkel for not having a voice. And everyone says Paul McCartney completely lost it.
If you ask A.I. today to compare Paul Simon and Paul McCartneys voice, it will tell you both have a significant lower voice, but McCartney overall can deliver more range.

We said we never go to see Art Garfunkel because he lost his voice already in 2011. But do we stop seeing Paul?

It is funny, because I had similar thoughts when I was waiting in Prague for the show to start. I red comments like "he should stop performing" and "he sounds weak and tired" and saw the documentary where he records 7 Psalms. Then the concert started and I enjoyed it a lot. In fact, I thought he is at last in the right place: a big concert hall with perfect acoustic. I have seen the Born at the right time tour on a football field with 14000 others, seen im in the Olympia hall in Munich, with Sting in a big Arena and in Hyde Park 2018 with 65000 others. I ask myself why I enjoyed Prague so much. One thing: I think his voice is ok and especially in the higher registers. To me he only sounds old when he sings lower. The band was perfect and, amen and hallelujah, it was no greatest hits show but some of his best songs. And to me the main difference to Art Garfunkel is, even though it was Paul who sang one trick pony, he never was one. He is a composer, a lyricist, a Guitarist, a singer. Art is a singer. And when he loses his voice, there is not much left.

But then: maybe I just think Paul Simon is one of the greatest artist and so I ignore that he isn't really good anymore? Maybe. But I watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj3fRICzsHI&li
st=RDwj3fRICzsHI&start_radio=1&t=402s,
the exact show I attended and still think it is great. For some reason it sticks in my mind more than Hyde Park did. But then again it might be pure sentimentality. Who knows?

I agree completely that his voice is different and that the whole experience was totally different thing than the huge 1990 Pop/Rock production on the height of his popularity. Maybe it is memory mixed with sentimentality mixed with quality that I forgive him some flaws.
