  | puh..I thought thats it...
There is not much I can do if the page is gone some day. Its getting more and more complicated to keep websites running. Not like back in 2000 when this page was made..or 2010 when it once got damaged and had to be restored from google cache pages.
Its really super hard these days, a little thing can make everything impossible.
Back in 1997 or so, EVERYONE was able to put his html page up to the web, most from their own computer at home. They just let them run 24h a day..haha
Nowadays...well, this page/site is against all laws and rules and complete illegal within the European union. No cookie banner, some google fonts..and hell, the passwords are in plain text! The page needs to be removed by law. Should we?
Seriously I do not have the time nor money and nothing else that would drive me on to "update" this thing. I love it...25 years old now.

A.I. will make most of the stuff irrelevant anyway soon.
I wonder what A.I. does if the content it stole first got removed later. Will it still rely on it, or will it remove the knowledge from it's database. |

| wow, I don't know what prompted me to randomly google this site after so many years, but lo and behold, it seems like I've come back at just the right time! the nostalgia! the pre-social media, pre-emoji days! so great to see these familiar names, and amazing work Bodo reviving this site. I guess the easiest solution is to remove the flag.. let's see. Those free services where they tell you what IP belongs to what country are all gone now (need to pay now). |

| I have adhered to a service that tells me where my email has been pirated and stolen on the black market. Most of my alerts in the last 10 years were from this site...
So I guess this is not a very secure platform nowadays...
What pirats do is they steal the information about your email and password, and they use digital tools to submit both of them to a series of sites like Amazon for instance. So people who use the same password everywhere are at risk. |

| Server was death for some days.
Guys, its getting way too complicated and I am sure next time the website is death.
This time I thought I use A.I. to solve the problem (yes claude.ai, that antrophic stuff that everyone thinks is great).
Story is, it first solved the problem and the site was back running. then A.I. told me we need to make it more secure for attacks.
it gave me a 2 liner to make it more save, block out the bad guys.
I asked: is this safe, or will it destroy my server?
It said "it is absolute safe, and if there is a problem we can set it back any time..bla bla"
I second later I was complete blocked out from the server. Actuall it did not block the bad guys only, it simply blocked ANYONE from log in to the server.
This A.I. thing is complete SHIT! It does not work. It gives such wrong advice. I can only wonder why so many people love it. Do you never get any errors with it?
I always ask back: Will this cause another problem? Or destroy something else. And its so super selfish, the AI always says: I am great, It will be great. Love me. I am D.T.
We had to rescue the server with our hoster.
of course the line it gave me simply blocked EVERYONE from doing ANYTHING. so including me. And A.I. said: Oh I am sorry.
In the future A.I. will bomb countries. Oh, I am sorry.
it will kill us. and say: Oh, my mistake.

| Thanks for keeping it up Bodo. Yes AI is just something making promises, I agree, as with so many things these days. People keep buying promises.
As for the website, I really would be glad if I could change my simple password, though I don't use this password anywhere else anymore.
What can we do to keep this small community alive? I am willing to spend some time on it, if you need, just send me a message, maybe we can divide it amongst each other. |
