These news will probably be the best news since, well maybe the announcement of the 25th celebration of Graceland 2012 tour.

Clive Davis brought together Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon among 6 other stars to perform at Central Park in New York on August 21 - as a re-open concert after Covid.

Also Pathi Smith and Jennifer Hudson may be on the list.

It will be a 3 hour show and up to 60.000 people are allowed. (I assume that you will have to ask for a free permission ticket somewhere on the web or its a lottery, so they can control the crowd
thats just an idea)

The concert will be broadcasted on CNN which is also one of the main sponsors

3 hour show with 8 stars maybe could mean each star just has a set of 20-25 minutes and they will do a few duets and joint songs at the end.
Still amazing to have our Paul back on stage with many other stars.
Who will book a flight now?

This is really good news. Pauls Simon best songwriter of this era and Bruce Springsteen best performer of this era. Do we know anything about how Paul and Bruce get along? I know about the conflict of Paul and Little Steven concerning the 'South-Africa-thing'.

IMO even Little Steven Van Zandt has very high opinion about Paul as a musician and songwriter. The conflict was only about beeing on the "killing list" and how Paul might have ignored that.
Afaik Paul and Bruce already played together on stage in 1987 (so after that conflict).

I guess the concert will be more like a show of 6-8 acts having short sets, maybe Bruce playing a little bit more and all-stars-together at the end doing 1-2 songs. I wonder if Paul will bring the full band for that event togehter, or just Mark, Bakithi, a drummer, Jamie and Andy. If its just a 25 minute set of 7 songs, and 3 accoustic songs, then it would be a lot of work to bring the whole band for 2-3 songs like Diamonds or Late in the evening.

Hopefully a full band. I am guessing Paul would only play his well known songs so would need the full band for the up tempo ones . Maybe SOS and The Boxer to end his set. Can't see him not having Mick Rossi, Biodin, CJ and Joel if available.

Perhaps one song together with Art? I don’t know how their relation is at the moment..... Also strange that this info about the concert is not on Paul’s official website......

I was considering going since it might be my only ‘concert in the park’’ since PS’s old age now, but I do not think COVID rules and frontiers rules will allow it for me from Canada…

I saw somewhere that there was a dispute between Springsteen and Simon about who would close the concert. I think it should be the king of Corona. Ha ha!

Paul Simon and the Killers will headline the concert. Bruce Springsteen will be there for a duet with Patty Smith.
