Very good sound Bodo. Well deserving of the ovation at the end. Can't understand why in more recent shows they go straight into "Every Move You Make" before any applause. Anyone any ideas?
Sting really proves that someone else than Artie can sing BOTW well. I guess Art isn't especially happy that Paul is singing that particular song with someone else. Probably looks upon it as some kind of "betrayal".
After singing SOS last weekend during a show in Palm Beach Art commented about Paul"He's somewhere on stage singing that with Sting right now." Obviously he has not paid much ttention to their set list!
Brilliant rendition of BOTW - when I first heard about this tour I was very luke warm about but now......
But for the record nothing will ever compare to the original versions with Artie singing BOTW
The more I think about Arties comment re SOS the sadder it sounds - so I'm treating myself to a morning of listening to S&gs greatest hits (on vinyl of course) my first ever Paul Simon album:)
I think that anyone can sing BOTW, but NO ONE will do it like Art did (and will do again, I hope)
And the voice of Sting (who I appreciate in his own songs) is NOT AT ALL adapted to that song, particularily ...
Art did a great recording of Bridge. I really love Paul singing it gospel style. Guess we all have our favourite versions. Paul's is the Arethea Franklin's. Sting gave really powerful and emotional performances on the tour. I really enjoyed his take on it.
