He hopes to finish new album in the Spring.

Nothing has been decided yet for the tour with Sting.

And he did not like the process surrounding the recording of ´Surprise´.

Really enjoyed Paul's thoughts on the albums! He may not have enjoyed the way "Surprise " was made bur still a great album. Although dubious when I first heard about the Sting tour am now really looking forward to it. Hopefully also a tour this year to promote the new album!

So is a new solo album or is it the one with Edie Brickell he is talking about?

If he will finish a new album in the spring it will probably not be released until the autumn (at earliest).

If it is a new solo album with songs written by Simon it is a good sign that it hasn't taken him forever to do it this time. The longer it takes the more boring the result usually gets...

LOL !!!!

It looks like we are talking about a new album solo indeed.

By the way, one of the strange statements in that RS article is about the inclusion of 'Think Too Much (b)' in one of his (too many) compilations. I agree it could have been a good track, but he says that he is been impeded to do so by people who would have said to him 'you can't; it is not a hit'.

Well, it looks strange because for records post ROTS, the tracks included in compilation are in general not hits at all and even boring at times. Plus, they released 'Songwriter' a few years ago bragging about that it was hand-picked by Simon himself.

Interesting for me (because I feel the same way) how he likes TGRS and dislikes OTP except Late in and Oh Marion, and likes the song Think too much b.

Simon album in my opinion has always make me happy. allways at least 2 songs from every solo record into the best song on my 25 top list. from the last it´s been dazzling blue and rewrite and the title track. and the new one riverbank it´s also very good.

I have actually listened to and enjoyed "Riverbank " quite a few times. Looking forward to the finished product.
