 | Is there any possibility that there could be a set list change or re-shuffle for this leg of the tour. I feel as though they could lose songs like "Baby Driver" and "At The Zoo" and replace them with "Bleecker Street" or "He Was My Brother" or "Flowers never bend in the rainfall". What do you think?
The latter stages of the last tour got a tad boring with the same songs and commentary. The "We met when we were 11 years Old.." etc. has to go! |

 | There are always people who are seeing them for the first time.So the show is as it is.Not everyone will have the benefit of hearing bootlegs or seeing them more than once.I do agree, however, that the show could contain more songs accompanied by solo acoustic guitar only.Personally I would like to see them in a small venue, 2000 seater, playing entirely with guitar only, even "Bridge" works with the guitar, but this can´t be.I think the 1993 Paramount Theatre shows were great in both quality and content!I would like to hear what each person in the forum would have as their ideal S&G concert setlist.)including whether you prefer solo guitar od full support band) |

 | I wish they would play most of the songs in the "acoustic way" (2 voices, 1 guitar) and let the band join for a few songs only.
But at most, I wish they would turn the last concert in Rome into an acoustic show, and release the whole thing as a double dvd with the show that is already taped....

 | I agree with all your sentiments but don´t you think that a touch of creativity and flair is needed for us diehards who are following EVERY show!? |

 | There are some people who wouldn´t have complained if he didn´t have an Art Garfunkel with him. |

 | I would like to see them add songs such as "Senorita with a Necklace of Tears" or "Quiet". (Or even "Graceland" as they have the Everlys to help out.)
I have been going to see PS or S&G concerts since 1967 and I am looking forward to seeing them again in Connecticut. |

 | These aren´t S&G songs. I hope they don´t do that ever.
AG songs would fit better to S&G, but I guess Simon doesn´t like singin other´s songs very much. |

 | About the songs... well I can´t imagine Art Garfunkel singin any ´rocky´ songs like Graceland. It doesn´t fit to him in any way (like Late In The Evening in the 80´s)
´Love´ would be one of the few songs where Art Garfunkel could add some harmonies, but how on ´Quiet´? Quiet is more a spoken song without harmonies, and I think it would be a fatal live version - it´s a meditation song. |

 | Julie, there HAS to be "an Art Garfunkel with him" in a S&G concert....I was really asking about what sort of setlist and running order you would like to see the songs in.Talking of knowing the spoken banter between them during the show, I once remember Simon saying to Art Garfunkel "you must reherse what you are going to say", regarding one of Garfunkel´s own solo shows.Simon,as I said in a previous posting, is meticulous in his timing and preparation of live material. Also, many of the spoken intros are used as cues for the next song.If you listen to the early bootleg concerts some of the spoken intros are quite long, which are quite clever in the fact that, as Art speaks,Paul can be heard tuning or re tuning his guitar,Keeping the show running without a break. So it is like seeing a play where everything is set and timed to perfection.Plus, look at it this way....each time they do a concert it is in fact a live rehersal of the show we will all eventually get to see....nicely polished and presented!I agree with Bodo though that there should be ONLY S&G songs in the set.The only thing I think that SHOULD be dropped is the fact that Simon insists on letting us know who the writer of the songs is, and that Art appears to have to agree with Simon......the Cheshire cat and White rabbit lead and supporting roles stuff. For me that is not needed. This goes back to the 1975 SNL show when the sing The Boxer and the pre song banter is this "leader and follower" stuff.Best to have a career-type, story as they go through the songs. Can´t beat what Art said at the MSG, NYC show "I Love this city.....that´s why I live here!" |

Well, if the musicians become more famous and have more money they can hire a guitar technician (one for each of Simon´s guitars...)
I more see Art´s talking as an excuse for the long break when Simon has to tune the guitar, not as a clever idea.
Today the musicians can play more songs, I welcome that.
BTW. I once remember Simon saying he doesn´t want to be an entertainer and telling jokes during the concert to please the audience - he want´s them to come because of his music and not his jokes. (And Artie tell´s us in every show who wrote Mrs. Robinson...)
