No one seems to be sure when this song was written and recorded. some sources say it´s from ´Bridge´ but I doubt that.
Later Peter Yarrow recorded the song together with Paul for one of his solo albums |

say´s that Groundhag is an extra track from Bridge.

Also this web site (source is wikipedia) say´s it´s from the Bridge album.
No one ever mentioned Bookends.
Maybe the song is written and recorded between Bookends and Bridge, so it´s not clear to which album it belongs... |
