a) This hasn't been written by Paul Simon
b) This is a zynical joke page - they try to exaggerate this whole stupid 'Paul stole a Los Lobos' story which comes up every few years now as something completely freaking new.

The have done a good job.

Did someone listen to the Accordion Jive hits compilation from the 'Way to Graceland' blog page? Nearly all the songs sound like Gumboots or Boy in the bubble...but it is only the accordeon or the drums giving you that impression. It is like listening to that chinese restaurant music which sounds like 1 long plagiarized song...but I am sure the writter knows exactly what he has written ;-)

The Onion is one of the best satirical news websites on the net.

Paul said on the 'Born at the Right Time' video I think, that no-one is funnier than when they take the thing that they are most vulnerable about, and everyone knows there are too, and cop to it, make fun of it. That's why Paul dressed up as a chicken on SNL.

I reckon Paul has a smile on his face reading this. He's much more relaxed in his old age, and has nothing to prove (as sales of Graceland today will testify).

The onion did not mention Los Lobos, and that's because no-one really knows who they are. Happy days.

Must agree with DannyJ, The Onion is a very good satirical website (if you like that kind of "humor").
Here's an older article about U2:

tly-fine-with-africans-starving,1852/

And there is even a homepage for funny Onion-reactions on facebook:

I just love the Onion ! Especially since Paul was featured :o)

The Onion is indeed funny but very irreverent -- think it was started by some college undergraduates. They poke fun at absolutely everyone -- the other day they were sharpening their claws on 16-year-old Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas.

Some of the lyrics from "the obvious child" are very similar to those found in a song called "Sonny". This song was made popular by Christy Moore a famous Irish folk singer and I always thought it was Irish in origin but apparently it was written by a newfoundler Ron Hynes in 1976, so it is possible that Paul Simon would have heard it.
