 | Bodo, would it be a problem to you to increase the site resolution as the current is 640x480. On my screen it looks very weird having this rectangle that I can scroll through, while the rest of the screen is black. Why isn´t the content shown normally as in other websites (eg. Wikipedia)

  | Can you post a screenshot of what you see ? it shoudnt be black. Unfortunately Design and database are Not the same, so changing the Design had no priority at the moment. |

 | It has always been the same for me too... not that I mind at all, it's the community here that is important to me :-) |

  | Eol, resolution is made for 1024*768 screens (not 640*480 as you wrote)
This is still the resolution MOST users on the internet are using - sounds incredible to you maybe, but you are not the first person using a FULL-HD screen.
The design parole is still: create the page for a 1024*768 resolution.
Anyway, I also use a HD screen since many years, but I never surf with a full screen. I always have at least 2 windows or explorer+another software.
No one is reading a line which is 40cm long :-)
see this:
http://www.orf.at - everything is blue on the left side, it is made for 1024 resolution

 | Perhaps. But people don't have three hands to scroll down those longer lyrics. I don't know what's the issue here. As far as my web-programming experience goes, you will only need to set the page to fit the screen and set the scrollbars a bit, which should automatically change depending on the resolution. And it's year 2012, monitors (and resolutions) changed since you created this website first. |

  | Check this, type in paul-simon.info
http://browsersize.googlelabs.com/
You see, even with that resolution only about 70% of all webusers can see the full page.
The real problem is, that when I made this page (so 12 years ago) I did not think about changing the resolution later. So in every page there is a table or layer with a fixed size (say for example: this table here has a size of 420 pixels)
So if I change the resolution of the whole thing it will not help a lot, because all elements will stay small.
Oh and BTW: Whats even more interesting - for smartphones (which become more and more important) I need an even smaller resolution (max 800 pixels, better around 500)
Maybe someday...
yeah the lyrics are a real problem. Maybe I find an easy solution there.

 | For me it's a problem too. I have to open the forum page in a new window, otherwise i have to scroll up and down and from left to right all the time to read the forum. That's really annoying. This started some weeks ago, before then there where no problems for me. |

  | That is really annoying.
I think one way to resolve it might be to delete the browser cache (for this page only) |

  | Hi
2 simple solutions I will offer
a) no change between small and big windows, just the big one
b) I will delete the 2nd scrollbar (on the very right side), |

  | @ Bjoern and Scaaty
Can you test if it is working better now on your Computers or Mac?
I've deleted a few scripts, not so many scrolling windows now
