Has anybody else noticed Paul move his face away from the mic to scratch his cheek/chin on ´Everything Put Together Falls Apart´ at 1:13?

Just a little thing I noticed the other day haha...

Yes!! You can hear him scratch his beard. I guess there are multiple parts throughout the album that are like that, but I´d have to go through it again.

Yep. I guess that´s when the overall ´feel´ of the performance is more important than any technical perfection. Theres´s a Stones song where Keith Richards audibly breaks a guitar string mid-song. They probably kept that for the same reason...

And on ´Hey Jude´ where Paul clearly swears F***in´ Hell! I think around 2.30ish. Would have to check exact time.

A little after 4:50 in "A Day In The Life" Ringo´s chair squeaks.

Haha this is a fun thread!

For me "Everything put together..." is not a "killer-song", compared to "Loves Me Like A Rock". Here the first performance with the words from Ira Tucker in the beginning was just left as it was, although more meant as rehearsal.

According to Phil Ramone in his book, any other trials afterwards sounded less vital, so Paul decided to take this, knowing that the song was a key song on the album.

"Can you forgive me" should have been recorded in a studio instead of Paul`s home. Even the version on the expanded CD sounds better.

Can I forgive him is a lovely recording in my opinion. I like the immediacy of it. You can hear his guitar or chair creak at points, and there night be a passing car in there somewhere too. Everything Put Together Falls Apart is likewise one of my favorite songs, and was one of the first songs I wanted to learn on the guitar when I began playing. I can see where you are coming from though Klausi. I know you are a bit of soundhound-audio excellence etc, etc. I am too really at heart, but both these songs are more like audio verite, than audio excellence:-)
