 | I´m planning on sending a letter saying I like the new CD; I don´t know if Paul answers his fan mail though since he probably gets a lot of it. If anyone has ever gotten an answer to a letter, I´d be interested in hearing about it. thanks!

 | years ago - they´d just drop a signed (real?, autopen?) pic in the mail - if you asked. otherwise, highly unlikely. |

 | I got a letter from the office of Paul Simon in 1983 when I was 15. It was from his manager Ian Hoblyn. Even that was a big thrill. The envelope was embossed with his name,as was the letter itself. I also scored the phone number from this same address, and much to my fathers chagrin,I called New York City at 2 in the morning(tapped out and yawning) and asked to speak to Paul. Obviously,no such luck:-( |

 | Ian, that sounds cool! You sound like you are about my age; I am going to be 43 in September. Your replies are reminding me that I should include a self addressed stamped envelope when I send a letter. I remember hearing that if you write to a celebrity, your chances of getting a response are low, but you might get a picture or something if you enclose an envelope. At any rate I think the music is great and P.S. and his wife seem to be doing well, with musical projects in mind.....it´s great to see that he´s looking happy. Also I don´t know how many people saw the interview Paul did with the artist Chuck Close but that was very impressive as well and I wanted to mention that. |

 | Answer fan mail! I´m sending him my whole "Lyrics" book. Got
tired of lugging it around and having it almost stolen, surprised at how many people did not know about the book. If
I don´t get it back it will be not so beautiful but so what. |

 | OK well it´s worth a try then. despite being a die-hard fan of his for 30 years, since I was 11, I have never had the nerve to write him or try to meet him in person. I did email someone from his children´s health charity b/c I used to have a job that partially involved children´s health. They were very kind and professional.
I asked about donating through the US government´s combined federal campaign. That is a program that takes automatic deductions from your paycheck, which makes giving easier. At the time the charity was not eligible, but she remembered the request and emailed me something like a year later, to say they were now a part of the campaign. By that time I had retired from the government and couldn´t use the program. I was impressed that she kept track enough to get in touch with me months later when their status changed. |

 | I´ve made a couple of donations to CHF in the past. One was during a ´matching´ promotion: PS will match your contribution. I received a very nice letter, something to the effect: "Paul Simon thanks you for your donation and support . . .". All on very nice CHF stationary. It was a feel good moment. |

 | OK I wrote a short note - I printed it b/c my cursive is awful and I thought typing was too impersonal. I just have to check the address b/c what I saw online does not match what this site has listed under ´contact.´ the online address is: Paul Simon, Shore Fire Media,32 Court Street, Suite 1600, Brooklyn, NY 11201,USA
while the address here lists 1619 broadway. but there was a phone number included with shore fire media so I´ll check.
who knows if PS will even see the letter but it can´t hurt to express positive feelings. |

 | A friend sent a Capeman poster to the Broadway address to assistant to Paul Simon. She asked if he would sign the poster for my birthday saying I had been a fan since the ´60s. She included paid packaging to return the poster. He signed it for me....what a great birthday present. I did the same thing for a young friend asking if Paul would sign it for her. He did sign it, and the assistant sent a note along saying that he usually doesn´t sign CDs so she hoped Nikki would cherish it - she was thrilled when I sent it to her.
Both of these requests were sent to the 1619 broadway address. |

 | I used the Broadway address, just got what I sent back since I
included a SSAE with it. The usual "too busy" line, but I wonder if he ever goes to that address? Probably too much trouble to send it on. |
