You left out "The Boxer" and "Bye Bye Love" from Nashville on the current tour.

I think I would prefer this tour instead of Surprise.

Still, as already mentionned, I would have dropped ´The Only Living Boy In New York´ (I am now bored by it), maybe ´Mystery Train´ (he did it in 2008 as intro to Mrs. Robinson). Slip Slindin Away, I have heard enough for now.

I welcome the return of The Obvious Child. In the show, one can see that this is a very well-known song in his repertoire. I wonder why he had left it away for 20 years.

H&B is great.

The main difference with 2006 is that ´Surprise´ was a little bit like a Greatest Hits show since Nobody had bought the record. This tour sounds more like the YTO tour: a solid 2-hour show with deep cuts, total Paul solo, and Paul being proud of the new material.

I much would have preferred the Surprise tour. I think Surprise is a much better ablum than SBOSW and that setlist is much better in my opinion and even has Train In The Distance which is one of my absolute favorites.

Also, you would be pretty lucky to hear all 32 songs on the current tour; think he usually plays about 25 or so.

I got screwed when I went to the show in Temecula and only got to hear about 21 songs, much less than at other songs this tour.

I guess it is a person preference. I hate the way some reviews of the new album (which are 99% rave reviews) often dismiss the previous 2 albums Surprise and YTO.

I really think all 3 have a lot of good new songs - and Surprise was just as innovative as is SWSW.

The Surprise of the Surprise Tour is that he really didn´t play much from the new album.

Also, this time he has not played anything from YTO or Surprise (other than F & D).

Since he is only playing 2 S&G songs this time I can understand that Only Living Boy is one of those (I´m over hearing The Boxer the way he sings it now in the 3rd person).

I agree that Slip Slidin Away would be better dropped in favour of more deep cuts from is 1970´s albums - eg, Duncan or Run That Body Down, American Tune or Something So Right, Train In The Distance, and a bit more from Rhythm Of The Saints. I think there has been too much reliance on the Graceland songs.

However, I´m just being picky. These have been great concerts -and the inclusion of Mother & Child Reunion, Obvious Child, Gone At Last, and the new songs make this tour very special regardless of what else he does or doesn´t play.

Agree with Gerard -

I like the new setlist more, I also like the songs more. Some of the Surprise songs never really worked very well in their live-settings.

TOLBIY is a really big hit in Simons repertoire since it appeared in that movie. I know many people knowing that song (but still they are surprised it is by Paul Simon...). Anyway, I like it a lot. It is an extreme underrated song: Having it on an album with Bridge Over Troubled Water that was clear. On other/later albums it would have been the best song maybe.
