 | Hi Bodo, you say " none of the ROTS songs is really outstanding" and then mentiones one that is, The Obvious Child.
how about The Coast? I think that one is certainly very outstanding as well. If I had only 5 minutes left to live, and I had to choose 1 song to listen to.... This one makes a chance! |

 | "You can play ROTS as a background music, it is perfect. Graceland always needs my full attention."
Funny, with me, it´s the other way around :-) I can´t listen to ROTS in the background. There are so many musical and lyrical layers I have to pay attention. |

 | I thought ROTS was the album when he crossed into shear poetry. and I would even use as evidence a song not on the album but from the same period: Ten Years. a poem put to music. |

 | ´Ten Years´ is better than any song on ROTS in my opinion, a lovely song that deserved to be on an album :-) |

 | To me ROTS is better than Graceland, because ROTS is my favorite PS album. I Love the rythms, the strange chords (Graceland has very simple chords) the atmosphere, the lyrics and most importantly: the compositions; the´re very subtle (even Proof and TOC) and well-thought compositions...
Just love the album. There´s no album (PS or non-PS) that sounds like ROTS |

 | How do you guys found the original Gumboots ?
We recognize the song, but it is quite different with what has ended on Graceland...interesting. |

 | As mentioned in another thread the 91 tour was amazing - but what was really fantastic was the way ROTS songs were played. just listen to CP91 on a good sound system - She Moves On, Proof, The Coast, Cool Cool River- the arrangements are amazing. Its was this album that converted me to RTOS over Graceland. |

 | If I may add that, ROTS, to me, is the ultimate reason why Paul is better than Dylan. Because compared with ROTS, Dylan´s music is monotonous and boring. And I don´t care about his lyrics, either. |
