While I loved Suprise and YTO, I have stopped listening to SBOSW already. I was playing Surprise for much longer. Of recent releases, I enjoyed Harper´s album more - more interesting lyrical ideas and musicality.

Sorry to hear that Proof. I on the other hand have spent most of the afternoon absolutely digging SBOSW(mp3´s still as yet). I Love it! I don´t where to begin. The song that I´m really enjoying atm is Love And Hard Times. How long have we been listening to this song-1 or 2 years, but this studio recording is just gorgeous,so well recorded,so delicately played. I am starting to adore this album. I feel like doing a track by track thing here, but suffice it to say,I think this is a great album. Bodo, initially you were a little concerned about the album. Do those fears still prevail or are you warning to it now?

I most say a think sbosw is one of the best album he ever done, I like all album but I have 7 favorite and this one is on my highest side. Dazzling blue and Love and blessing and Love is sacred and even question for the angel is inmy list of all time Paul Simon songs. I must also say Yto is very underrestimated work.

Hi Ian - I am absolutely happy with that album, and would say it is his best since...well ROTS (but I like The Capeman too)
I am still not a big fan of GRFCD, that means I like all other songs better, but it fits good within those songs, and at the moment I always play ALL of the songs, but in random order. So far my favourite songs are:
Love is eternal sacred light ******
Rewrite ******
Dazzling Blue *****
Love and blessings *****
Love and Hard times *****
So beautiful or so what *****
Questions for the angels ****
The Afterlife ****
Getting ready for christmas day ***
Amulet ?

I do not really have an opinion about Amulet. I like that guitar melody, it is a wonderful tune. But it is a little bit short, someone could think it is not more than an intro to Questions for the angels? If I just play the album in random order most of the time I just miss Amulet..have no idea when it has been played. For an instrumental title it is really a little bit short, isn´t it?

I wish I could play it on guitar!

I think it works very well as an intro to questions, even if it was not written for that. Bookends theme is pretty short too, the instrumental version is wonderful and the song, both short, so I don´t think the length is a problem for me. I like to listen to it, I do not skip over it, but I don´t like it as much as the songs with lyrics for sure.

Of couse it is. I was only showing the top 4, not the last 4. Capeman is in my top 13 of favourite Paul Simon solo albums, it´s not in my top 12... :-)

By the way, I think it is it´s twelfth studio album even including the capeman...
or do you count One Trick Pony not as a studio album, but as a sound track? In that case you´re right and then it is his eleventh...
