 | Question - why does a ´Deluxe´ Edition today look like the cheapest available promo-give-away Edition from 1991?
I hate those paper-boxes, and want back that thing with the gem....jewel case.
few weeks ago I bought the ´deluxe´ edition of the new roxette album, the extra was a complete live album....hm

 | I think the paper cases are more eco-friendly, and of course, they are cheaper to make. A lot of indie labels like Hear Music use them, but now some of the bigger company´s are too. |

about cheaper: well, why then call it a deluxe edition?
All the designer-cd-shelfs are build completely wrong now. I want my chronolgy of PS CD´s fit together :-(

| I agree I like the Jewel Cases better, but there´s not much we can do about it. I think the "deluxe" part is just the fact that there are two discs. |

 | Bodo, I´m agree with you. Me too I´ve bought the Deluxe version , it costs here â?¬21.90 against â?¬19.90 of the jewel case, so I´ve thought that it was not so much more for a "deluxe". At the beginning I´ve thought it was a good idea, but now I miss the jewel case and I have the same your problem.

 | They could have done deluxe really spectaculars, the second live CD, as is talking, or a version of the whole album in format 5.1 DVD, but sadly they have made something a little poor. Neither I like me at all the box, it gets dirty in all that the plastic is opened, to the minute having it in the hands already was ugly |

| LOL funny problems.
Well I think I will create my own jewel case version out of it. I take the booklet and put it into a jewel case. Maybe I even cut back of the deluxe edition out, and put it into that jewel case.
After listening a few times I found the mix of the SBOSW live version is lacking of dynamic and bass. I changed that a little bit...will upload my version here. More powerful IMO. |

 | I do agree. My deluxe edition arrived from the USA the other day and I thought it would have been better in a 2CD case like the ´In a Little While I´ll be on My Way´ greatest hits release that has some bonus tracks on a second disc.
I´ll probably buy the non-deluxe version in the UK when it is released in June so I´ll have both. It will be interesting to see how Decca package their release and if it is any different from the Hear release.
By the way - those Euro prices are crazy - my deluxe CDs from the US cost less than that including the postage. The UK CD will probably cost about £6 or £7, when it is on amazon.co.uk or in the supermarkets. |
