What kind of sound system would you need to hear the differnce?

If you buy these HD audio tracks:

- compared to the ´normal´ CD.

I do not have a expensive audio system. It is a Harman/kardon AVR 135, a few years Old now. And infinity speakers.

Do you think I(or someone) would hear the difference?

Thanks Bodo. I did not know that SBOSW was offered in this format.

I am a member of Bower and Wilkins Music Club, which offers their albums in 24-bit flac format and I can tell you that I am rarely disappointed. I still burn that stuff on a DVD and play it with my DVD player. Most of the time, the sound is amazing. Really what was promised in 1983 with the arrival of CD´s has - 30 years later - really come to reality: I feel that the performer is in my living room.

The 24-bit audiotrack is supposed to be the real master ´tape´, simply put.

I will try SBOSW and let you know what I think.

Hi Mog,

Just a short question: What price category is your sound equipment?

If you are going to buy it, then you should search for the LP version, which includes the 24-bit tracks as an extra download.... Thats what I will do I think, because LP sounds fine.

Only for USA/CANADA/MEXICO .....


Think this would have been even the better deal for me, but now I can not buy it.

I listened to the tracks and the sound quality is really great, but you can only order from the HD store when you live in the United States. Hopefully the LP version with 24-bits will become available in Europe too. I also want to buy the LP and put it in my wooden LP frame in my livingroom :) The exclusive limited Edition is for sale now in Europe but is very expensive â?¬ 115,- and no 24-bits download.

I listened to it. I was lucky enough to get rid of the ´U.S. only thing´ by using Paypal. I am now in appetite for some other albums....´A Love Supreme´ in 24-bit sounds like an automatic orgasm in my case !!!!

The flac files for SBOSW total 1.3 Go, so it won´t fit a regular CD in any case.

I did hear the difference in sound in the HD stuff for SBOSW. Interestingly, the ballads saw the most big improvements IMHO. For the rest, you kind of realize that the bass is missing in most of the tunes. My Subwoofer felt a bit unused...

MP3 will satisfy 95% of the buyers, the CD 99.5% of them...is it worth the HD thing ? Since you are one of the most PS fans in the world, I would recommend it. Others do not need to bother if they don´t want to.

By the way, I would have loved if they had included this in the Deluxe set !! Obviously, they had room for it along with the three other things that they did put. A missed opportunity...

have to think about it. I first have to buy a new soundcard I guess, otherwise the whole thing will be useless.

To be quite frank, the deluxe version of SBSW is a waste of material - not worth the cost of burning the disc.

And all this deluxe stuf is freely available.

That´s true about the video stuff, there is even more available on the internet than on the video. But the live version of the song SBOSW is very good.

Thats why i cancelled my first order, and bought the deluxe version for only 1 euro more than the normal version...1 euro for the live track might be okay.
