 | Just curious, am I the only one here who goes to the opening show tomorrow night in Seattle? I´ll try to capture a few pictures and to fil a bit if I can as I explained to my fellow French fans on the French forum.

 | I am going along with a friend from Portland. I am also going to the club performance on Sunday at Showbox at the Market near Qwest Field. I am so excited and anxious to see the difference between the two shows. |

 | Are these both in large arenas or small venues or one of each- it would be nice if the setlist was different depending on size. |

 | the setlist issue is troubling me. Ideally I´d Love to not look and find out at the first show I attend but the chances of that happening are almost zero! |

 | I don´t expect big changes in the setlist. Some minor changes usually after the first show and then he sticks to it. But who knows, something new would be nice. |

 | Matthew just turn off your computer untill you have seen the first concert......................
Scaaty i think setlist wil change a little. Here in Europe most of them are festivals or bigger venues (max. of 8000/10.000 people)
I would Love too see Paul in a theatre. That would be great!!! |

 | Erwin - you surely know I can´t do that ;-)
All the main UK dates are in theatres of around 2,500 people. Only Bournemouth is slightly bigger at around 5,000. |

 | Okay, i tought the venues in the UK were bigger. I know Brussels can have 8000 people and Rotterdam 10.000. Don´t know about venues in Germany and France.... |

 | I also do not think he will alter the setlist on different locations. That would be something really new.

 | I think most of the theaters are on the smaller size, from 2000-4000 places.
Good or bad, who knows...
I do not think it makes much difference on the music Paul will play.
A really small venue would be 300-500 people, but then the tickets would cost around 500-800 Euros. And I do not think that Paul will ask for requests anyway :)
Well, the idea of having intimitate shows - like Paul said - maybe has just come because he really can not fill big stadions with 15.000 or more seats.
And thats not only because he is not as popular as 20 years ago. The higher ticket prices + the bad economy have limited the audience to the real fans.
A young person who maybe likes Paul Simon a little bit would never spend 60 Euros for a ticket. In 1991 you just went there with your friends, price wasnt an argument. And for the real fans it is not a difference if you spend 60 or 90 or 150 Euros.
Anyway, if the price would be 50 Euros I would visit 2 shows. No one is enough. Even in the year 2002 Paul asked a fan why he visits so many shows, ´they are all the same´ Paul said.... :-)

 | In 2008 I was at Paul´s concert in Udine, Italy. This was in a castle´s garden on a citadel. A very small venue, beautiful surroundings and about the same price as at bigger venues. |

 | Italy is always very in-expensive.
I think that they have a higher cultural sponsorship by the goverment.(??)
I have heard (10 years ago or so) that other countries (Germany, Austria..UK?) have cut down that sponsorship (what makes sense IMO, why should the gov. sponsor a concert for a foreign musician who owns millions of $) |
