 | so it´s like 4 and 8 in Music, 4 and 7 in pop - and 3 and 8 in Rock. But notice -ranked twice for the deluxe and regular versions. Can´t help but think he´d be sitting on #1 if combined.

 | These oldsters usually peak high in sales in the first few weeks, but I´ve got to say that this is incredibly encouraging!
I don´t know how big albums by older artists get to be anymore...real big ones are pretty rare..."Surprise" deserved to be huge too, but I think this one could actually be quite a bit bigger than that equally great album. |

 | On a proper chart - rather than the database-generated on like on Amazon - the CD, Vinyl, deluxe and download would all count as one album - so it would be higher.
Whether it would outsell Adele´s hugely successful ´21´ I am not sure.
I am worried that the drip-drip release of this album, free download of Getting Ready for Christmas Day, streaming of the whole album, etc. may dilute sales a bit. By the time it is launched in the UK in June, many fans will have ordered it from Amazon US or made their own copies from the stream, etc.
However it is great news that the album is clearly being bought in large numbers. Will it top the success of Surprise in the UK? - no.4 for 2 weeks - I hope so! |

 | The day before release the deluxe is 3 in rock, 4 in pop & 4 in music...the standard 5 in rock, 6 in pop, & 6 in music. I would have to believe that with combined sales it would most likely be #1...or no lower than #2 (don´t know how big a seller The Foo Fighters are these days)...
I´m thinking this will both peak higher, stay on the charts longer & generally just outsell "Surprise". But I don´t know how that will translate overall. Few older acts sell tones of records anymore (maybe Springsteen, U2, & Rod Stewart´s American Songbook albums, or some Elton John stuff are the exceptions), and then tend to peak fast, selling to their dedicated target audience, and then drop off rather quickly.
The one hope is that Paul´s increasing street cred with the indie crowd could propel this to better places. I certainly hope so. There is no question the quality of the album warrants it. |

 | I would suspect that SBOSW is going to sell like YTO, which would be ´more´ in fact more because people are buying less their music than in 2000.
But do I care ? Not really ! We have make our morning of multi-platinum records...all that counts for me is a good album, Paul happy & proud, and nice shows. SBOSW satisfies this criteria. |
