Paul will play Mother And Child Reunion for the website of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Another track we´ve not heard in a while we can add to our expected tour setlist.

1989 the last time?

Joey reliably informs me he played it in 1993 and 1999 but it´s still a relative rarity to me.

He only did it once in ´99.

I know he did it as part of a medley with "Knockin´ On Heaven´s Door" with Bob Dylan at House of Blues in Los Angeles on 23JUNE1999. I think he´s done it since then (and I´m not counting Stephen Marley´s version at the Gershwin Prize concert) but I can´t put my finger on exactly when he did it.

Here in Melbourne they´re playing a radio advertisement for digital radio for mothers day gift, has a little bit of Mother And Child Reunion. A really appropriate song and a nice Surprise, and an opportunity to get excited and give the kids some Paul Simon history (first song released after S&G split) while they´re trapped in the car.

Haha I know exactly what you mean! I´m always so compelled to give history lessons while I´m driving to the songs Paul Simon has written. Plus, I always expect people to listen really closely to the lyrics the way I do rather than just saying "I like the melody."

Such is the life of a Paul Simon fan.

You are so right, Mike. It is often a bit frustrating to be a Paul Simon fan. I often try to explain some lyric to my girlfriend, but I have the feeling she really doesn´t care or really doesn´t want to understand. haha
