 | If I learnt one thing from Simon´s music... then it is that the true value of it only proofs itself after a while, so after a number of listenings. For the same reason I can´t understand that music critics rate an album after listening to it one time only... those people haven´t understood it at all what music is about. TBC

 | I wondered that about critics, too. I´m afraid, that sometimes they don´t evan listen to an album completely. They base their review on their already existing opinions and seldom take the time, to really listen without knowing beforehand, what they will write.

 | This reminds of a review of the Surprise album by Douglas Heselgrave.
He starts his elaborate review with: "Sometimes it`s better to wait awhile before expressing an opinion. If I had written this piece six months ago when I first heard Surprise (...), I would have written a much different review.
The end of the review is also worthwile mentioning: "Don`t make the same mistake that I did by putting it (Surprise, HR) on the shelf for months. Life is too short, and the music here is too good not to be heard and listened to as often as possible."

 | They just played The Afterlife on radio 2 here, Frits Spits was very excited about the song, played it 2 times in a row and started to translate the lyrics. I bet the new album will score very high in his programm next week (De strepen Van Spits)

 | Amazon com has the album at Nr. 6 at the moment, two other albums coming out April 12 better, but also cheaper, 9,99 Dollars instead of 12,99 (one with Alisson Krauss).
JPC Germany has it at Nr. 7. |

 | Yes Ans, I heard that too. Wasn´t that great?
Did you notice that Bol.com still says SBOSW is available on the 8th? |

 | Because of the early possibility to hear the songs because of James`s mail on March 31, I think that the three up to that unknown (for me)slower songs (apart from Love in hard times):
"Dazzling Blue", "Questions for the Angels" and "Love and Blessings" have a very remaining effect. |

 | SBOSW is now #4 in rock and #5 in pop on Amazon. I am pretty sure Surprise didn´t do this well.

 | That´s good because in my iTunes, So Beautiful is far away from the top in terms of pre-orders. Even Union Station beats him !
Maybe Simon fans are more 40 years Old and older, and these people are still attracted in buying the physical product...theory. |

 | look, I´m gonna buy the album and all,(well that´s me) but I don´t really understand the marketing of streaming the entire album live everywhere when everyone has an audio capture program or knows someone who does...just sayin... |

 | The publicity that circulates around the album might be worth the risk of some people getting it illegally. It could be the difference between a lost masterpiece (Surprise) or a Grammy nomination. Plus, most of the money is made in public appearances and concerts anyway (if money really is a factor at this point). |

 | I wonder if is illegal to record something being streamed, this is what we all did way way back in the days of cassettes and radios...anybody else remember THAT? |

 | Well, I´ve made up my mind on this album... Paul said that he has changed, and he was wondering who wrote BOTW... Paul has changed, and I guess I like his older work much better. So it´s very nice he is getting attention with this album but I think I agree with Proof that this is a nice album, but nothing really special. Sorry guys, but that´s my opinion at this moment... Maybe I like the record more after listening to it another 10 times... But I can´t imagine that I will like it as much as I like Hearts And Bones, or Paul Simon (the record), or There goes rhymin Simon... But who knows... We´ll see... Only time can tell... |
