 | Really ? I don´t why...I was a bit disappointed.
Paul seems a bit repeating himself.
Maybe the best on this album lyrically for me is Questions for the Angels & The Afterlife.
But is there a Boy in the Bubble, a She Moves On, a 50 Ways, something of this magnitude ?! |

 | "Dazzling Blue" and "Love Is An Eternal Sacred Light" have great lyrics. "Dazzling Blue" actually reminds me of a song I´ve been working on for a while. But with Paul Simon, his music adds a whole new depth, so I´m not making any judgments based on this. With a lot of songs you don´t really know where the story is going until you hear the words sung and the music played.
Regardless, I´m going to enjoy this album immensely! |

 | Oh, I did like the title-song. I think it is well-done lyrically.
Dazzling Blue might be a Love song for him and Edie ?
Love is Eternal Sacred Light & Love and Blessings, I don´t know what to think. Sometimes, I don´t even know who is talking in the song, and that stuff means. For some, it just makes them more interesting, but I am bit lost.
Well, when he begins a song, he does not even know what he wants to talk about. I think it begins to show.
Anyhow, SBOSW will probably sound to me more a musical experience than a lyrical one ! |

 | I think these are the best lyrics he´s written since ROTS. My favorite is Love Is Eternal Sacred Light. |

 | I agree that these might be the best lyrics since ROTS. "Surprise" might be as good though, it´d be a close call there. Not having heard this album all the way through yet, nor having lived with it, it´s tough to say, but I´m thinking that I may soon have 5, not 4, fave Paul Simon solo albums...if not then this will be on the second to top shelf for sure...a great album without a doubt- all I have left to answer is how great...as in how does it grow on one over time...
"You´re The One" is no slouch lyrically either, though while I Love some of the music, I love some of it less (I´d consider YTO a stronger lyrical album- maybe better written than recorded?- still terrific)
My absolute lyrical faves are: "Dazzling Blue", "Questions For The Angels", "Love Is Eternal Sacred Light" "The Afterlife", & "Love & Blessings". The other are terrific too, but to answer a previous poster´s question- those five I´d put up with the best lyrics he´s ever written at any time. |
