 | Just a story from long ago. Last week I turned 60 which started me thinking. So I remembered being 16 and going to my first concert with some friends. Forest Hills Tennis Stadium with my Queens brothers Simon & Garfunkel. A few days/weeks?? before the show a new group was added on to open, The Doors. What a way to start a lifetime of music. I remember the crowd being horrible, Old "Mighty Wind" intolerant folkies. I got into a fight with a guy in front of me telling him to shut up and listen. I felt like I was listening to Brecht come back to life. When Paul and Artie came on they were greeted as local heroes and were equally mesmorizing. I´ll never forget that night. I´m celebrating my 60th by going to see my main music hero Levon Helm at his house in the Midnight Ramble.
Sincerely,
Larry Simon
