No your not wrong I did say Simon and Garfunkel in my Home Town of Widnes England.

From my local Newspaper "Widnes Weekly News" The following Article.

The nation´s favourite Simon and Garfunkel Tribute Band have paid homage to their heroes by recording a version of "Homeward Bound" on the platform of Widnes train station.

The original song was reputedly written at the station in 1965, when lead singer Paul Simon was waiting for a train back to London to see his girlfriend Kathy.

Steve Green and Ben Bowden, who reproduce the duo´s award winning act on stage as The Sounds Of Simon, will be performing the song live in a charity concert at Haydock Park Golf Club, Newton-le-Willows on Saturday May 7.

The Duo have also filmed a short music video of their visit to Widnes that will be played on the night.

Ben said "We had to come to Widnes, it is a key part of Simon and Garfunkel history."

"Homeward Bound" is just one of the most beutiful songs he ever wrote"

The two hour set at Haydock Park will see the duo cover more than 25 hits from four decades of Simon and Garfunkel, including Mrs Robinson The Sounds Of Silence Late In The Evening You Can Call Me Al Graceland and other songs from Paul Simon´s solo career.

The Show has delighted theatre audieances up and down the UK for the Past three years and a percentage of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Epiphany Trust, which serves the needs of disabled children in Burma.

Tickets priced £20 are on sale now and are available by calling 01925 220999 or by email from [email protected].

Hello!

It was a cold and bleak day on that platform! The locals kept pointing and laughing, and due to a logistical cock up, we couldn´t get into the ticket office to see the plaque.

Anyway..... the video is now up on youtube - you can see it at:

We´re also on tour at the moment, and there is another major UK theatre tour planned for the summer and autumn.

Big Love,

Ben ("Paul" in THE SOUNDS OF SIMON http://www.soundsofsimon.co.uk)

Hi Ben, didn´t realise you were ´forum guest´ - I thought you had your own name on here? Anyway, loved the Widnes video, plus ice cream van at the end ;-) Still waiting for you to come back to Crewe & Nantwich - the guy from The Limelight now has live bands at The Jolly Tar in Nantwich, if ever you get chance to come back? I enjoyed your album covers in your photos - really well done.
