Anyone know why the almbum cover for Graceland was chosen? This is what I do know...: It depicts Saint George from an ancient Ethiopian manuscript called a harag and dates to the late 15th century.The exact icon can be found at http://www.pem.org/collections/5-african_art - Also, Desmond Tutu was crowned archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa on the steps of Saint George church in 1986, the same year Graceland was released. I have my theories but anyone know for sure? I saw Ladysmith Black Mambazo a few weeks back and met some of the original band members and they didnt even know!
