I don´t think so... He probably will be next time. I bet something in his new album will be nominated. But that´s a long ways out.

The Grammys were in Los Angeles; Paul has been on the east coast recently (home, Boston, Philadelphia). Obviously he could have flown out just for the awards ceremony but that doesn´t seem likely since he was a presenter, nominee or performer.

As far as I remember Paul was not at the Grammys since the S&G-you-have-to-be-friends-now-and-tour-for-us show in 2003.

Wrong year?

;-)

They were there in 2001 but I didn´t see in 2003 so they may have been there then too. Saw the one last night -- great show!

Eh, no - everything 2003.
S&G did not talk to each other before, and in 2001 Paul was nominated for album of the year (YTO)

In 2012 Paul really should get a nomination again. I mean, Surprise deserved a nomination, when YTO got one....

"Surprise" was my fave album of all last decade!!
It most certainly deserved a nomination, and then some! IMHO awards shows in general, and the grammys in particular, are a total joke.
I do bet that "So Beautiful Or So What" gets nominated in some fashion, as both Paul Simon & Paul McCartney have a streak going as being the only two artists to have been nominated for grammys in the 60´s, 70´s, 80´s, 90´s, 00´s, and soon I´ll bet the 10´s (Macca was nominated & won one last night)...
Paul Simon is tied with Stevie Wonder & Frank Sinatra with three album of the year grammy wins...I double checked all of all this with Wiki BTW,,,

Is it true that in 2003, they performed a song, but did not go onstage to accept the award? I looked
up some article about that year and
they are not even mentioned.
