I´m not rich, took all the money I had
saved for something special, nothing
special came along for several years.
It is Outrageous what those places
charge, I saw Elvis for $15 and had a
great seat. But I also thought this is
the only time they will be getting this
close maybe and at last I´m getting my
wish. Last year at this time I was in
high heaven.

I haven´t been to a concert in many years -- with Ticketmaster fees, many of them are more than $100. There are lots of CDs, TV shows, and stuff on the Internet that we can enjoy at affordable cost or free. I guess we all have to decide for ourselves whether it´s worth it or not -- personally I´m an Old cheapskate!

For me nothing beats a live concert. The excitement of getting tickets, than looking forward to the concert, the joy and excitement I feel when the day arrives. Having great seats is important but if I can´t get them I always have the live music to enjoy and the lovely sphere of the event.

But festivals are the best, as Bodo described, waiting in line for several hours, the joy to meet other fans, run up front for the best spot. I still have lovely memories from Paul´s solo concerts in 2006 and 2008.

There are different arguments here. If the act you are going to see is a musician then surely it´s more about the sound than the visuals?

Many people suggest you should sit/stand as close to the sound desk as possible as that is where the sound is mixed from and so surely where it will sound best.

If you stand at the front at some concerts you are actually behind the PA system and get a muddy noise but of course you can see better if that´s more important to you...

I agree with you that there are different arguments.

But in the end you should do what is important for yourself.

The sound is very important at a concert. But for me it is also about the mimicry of the face, to see the emotions when an artist/band performes live. And when your up front there is also the possibility to connect with the artist, have eye contact FE.

What I was trying to say earlier is that you have to make the best of it and enjoy the concert you payed good money for even when the seats are further away as you thought they would be.

If PS solo show ever came to Australia I would happily sit on the roof as long as the sound was good.

Of course that $1,000 I paid for some
of them was for two people, the VIP
tickets offer. Ozzy has a meet and
greet for $1,000. Paul has a nice
meal up front if it´s a dinner theater,
James had a sit up front, two to a table and wiry chairs plus you got to
go to the sound check. This should be
illegal!!! S&G you got a t shirt and
something they were going to send to
your home, they wouldn´t say what.

@Cher,

Do you still have these tickets? When the tour was cancelled you could get your money back. If a tour is cancelled twice in a row because of Art´s voice problems it is obvious there is a real problem. I for sure would get my money back. To be honest, I would never spend $ 5,000 in the first place.
