Speaking of biographies, I hope any hype surrounding this new release prompts someone to write a decent PS and/or S&G biography. Kingston´s is somewhat boring (where´s the juicy stuff? I find it hard to believe that any famous musicians are that...normal), and at this point is very outdated. And the new PS bio (the part I read, anyway) is very lame.

Interesting release that appears to be providing something useful for a change.

Does any remember the Gold edition that came out in the 1990s that I think was the 25th Anniversary release?

It seems that the two bonus tracks that were added to the 2001 remaster have been quietly dropped!

1. "Feuilles-O" [Demo] (Traditional) ` 1:45 Recorded: August 11, 1969
2. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" [Demo Take 6] ` 4:46 Recorded: August 13, 1969

This is available individually, in the box set and as a budget release that came out in 2007 (5 discs plus Concert in Central Park DVD).

I think that is exactly why S&G (and Paul Simon in particular) do not get the same coverage as their contempories, because apart from the music and songwriting they are such "ordinary´ people. very middle class very everyman.

Looking forward to this DVD though - have it ordered on Amazon.

BTW is there a release date for SBOSW in Europe yet. Amazon UK don´t seem to list it.

How can they release a "40 Anniversary edition" when it is in fact 41 years ago BOTW came out? Rediculous!

(and still no "Cuba si, Nixon no"... Well, I guess there will always be 50th Anniversary edition in nine years. Or ten...)

Just a little late in issuing it. These things happen. Paul was busy recording his album which may have delayed The Harmony Game video. Main thing is it will soon be here.

Re the omission of any bonus tracks I think they decided the anniversary edition should be exactly as it was originally issued. They argued enough at the time about the missing twelfth track!

The best and most authoritative information on the making of the TV special is in Charles Grodin´s book, "It Would Be So Nice If You Weren´t Here." Grodin does an excellent job of capturing that moment in 1969 when "the boys" were on the brink of mammoth success.

I think that was a bad decision. If you want lots of people to buy something again that they already have, they should of course fill it with stuff that makes me want to buy it. I don´t care if they would put that on a different disc or an the same as the original album.

I know how you feel Hakan re wanting bonus tracks but I still feel it is in commemoration of 40 years of the actual album that was released in 1970 so to put extra tracks on it , not originally there ,defeats the purpose. I think enough people will buy it alone for The Songs Of America and Harmony Game documentaries and the 42 page booklet. And to be honest for the sheer nostalgia. It seems like only yesterday that I used to sit night after night in 1970 , with friends listening to the most brilliant music and lyrics I had ever heard from the best duo ever.

Hopefully it will not be too long that Cuba Si Nixon No will be a bonus track on a compilation
