| it probably means a street overgrown with weeds, so he calls it "weed street" He is talking about urban blight in America, where many communities have become very run down, I think this is about the general economic condition in America, which is a big part of any one´s thinking on what life is going to be like in the future. |

| Truly some great writing again. When I first heard the actual song from the link in the forum, I was thrown by the whole Gumbo analogy at the start. Then in the full context of the song it becomes very clear. The whole vibe of this song is fantastic and I expect it to become one of my all time favorite Paul Simon songs. |
