 | It was an instrumental song with a funny 1930´s sound, kind of reminds me of the Old Mighty Mouse theme, just a little. This would have been in the late 1960´s maybe early 1970´s? It was played on the radio and I remember hearing it used as a Demo song for Hi-Fi stores at the time.

Hi it could be from the late 1950´s when Simon and Garfunkel where under various names including "Tom and Jerry" Try searching under that.
I came across a CD in 2000 called

 | My guess is that it´s "Hobo´s Blues," the instrumental Paul did with Stephane Grappelli on Paul´s first post-S&G solo album. |
