 | Hi everyone!
Has anyone else but me noticed the big difference in Paul´s voice from when he went solo after S & G? His voice suddenly seemed so much higher in the seventies than it did in the sixties. Does anyone know if he had any vocal training around that time?

 | I think during S&G Paul had to sing in a deeper voice to match the harmonies with Artie. He gave all the high voice part to Artie, so he had (almost) only the lower key parts.
When he went solo, Paul had to cover all the ranges by himself, that´s why it may appear that his voice went higher.

 | I once read an interview with Paul around the time of Still Crazy, I believe he had some vocal training and maybe it says something about it on the sleeve of that album, like thanks to somebody (I cant remember who) who helped me with my voice this year> I think! Thats a pretty high "whoooooa" he goes for at the end of still crazy. |

 | yes, and on ´Silent Eyes´ the last note is also extremely high. and also on ´I Do It For Your Love´ the middle part is up there too. On those tracks from the seventies it is hard to hear that it´s the same Simon from S&G. |

 | I Love his voice in the 60´s the best, I love to listen to his parts in S&G live, esp Monterey Pop Festival 1967. Also the Paul Simon Songbook and the Live Queens College 1964. |

 | Agree Helen I also Love S and G Live in Amsterdam 1970 . I have been listening to it for the past couple of days. Just the two voices and Paul´s guitar{except for the piano in BOTW} Every song is awesome. To me S and G at their very best. |

 | Hi Brenda,
Just listening to Amsterdam now, It is great. Do you think Paul´s voice seems more prominent here than earlier live performances. Can´t hear Art´s voice well. I Love Punky´s Dilemma. Guitar is great in this. Art can´t whistle. LOL |

 | Hey Brenda,
Just listening to other live versions of For Emily. Paul sings a very faint background vocal at Monterey Pop here at 6:18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NdmgU5Vdn8
which I´ve never heard him sing on live before. So beautiful.
